Draft at Sedona. Pours a dark brown color with a medium sized frothy brown head. Average head retention. Aroma of roasted malts, chocolate, oats, mild herbal hops. The taste is roasted and sweet malts, oats, dark chocolate and a bitter hop finish. Growler. I was actually a bit worried here. So many of the stouts that I have had recently have been huge imperial monsters - I was concerned this was going to come across thin and weak as a result. Not a problem! Nice chocolate and coffee notes, and very smooth, almost slick mouthfeel with plenty of body. A touch of sweetness, but balanced by the roast. Very well done, liked this a lot.
