3.2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle. Pours a pale gold with thick white head. Aroma is light of mostly malt, hints of resin. Taste almost has a wheat taste, but is very refreshing and has a suprising hearty taste. Overall, this beer has a good story and a good beer to match.
This bottled beer pours a small white head that mostly diminished, hazy body, fair amount of lacing, no visible carbonation, and a straw hue. The Aroma is malty, yeasty and fruity. The Taste is malty, fruity, some hops, and finishes dry. The Palate is slightly tingly and this is medium bodied beer. Overall, I did not care for the flavor of this beer as the flavors were boring. Golden pour and moderate white head. Sweet corny aroma is bit off-putting. Flavors of lightly roasted caramel sweetness, just a hint of hop bite, lots of carbonation, and very faint hints of adjuncts. Not anything I’d care to repeat, but not that bad after cutting the grass. Headbanger (4022) - Aurora, Illinois, USA - JUL 8, 2009
12oz bottle 7/8/09 (Siciliano’s Market-Grand Rapids)-Pours a slightly hazy golden with a small white head. Aroma of sweetness, hops, citrus, and gras. Taste is of the same with a bit of a wheat taste. This ligjht to medium bodied brew is not bad on a hot summer day. Hophead22 (2879) - Redlands, by way of Wisconsin,, California, USA - JUN 21, 2009
12oz bottle from dmschefke, thanks Dave. Yellow color with a bright white head. Sweetish, yeasty, bready aroma. Crisp light flavor, some corn maybe, don’t know if it has any, but it has that taste to me. lb4lb (2628) - Austin, Texas, USA - MAY 14, 2009
Bottle in trade from dmschefke. Thanks! Pours clear golden with short lived white head. Smell is mild and of crackers and grains but not sweet and malty. Taste is more like a pilsner than a pale ale with crackery, grain and light, dry malt flavor and a light dose of balancing hops, but no fruitiness or pale ale like hop characteristics. Still, reminds me of a clean, bready, yet hoppy, crisp pilsner. Medium body and crisp carbonation. Not what I expected, but still pretty refreshing and enjoyable.

12oz Bottle. Aroma blasts forth with a wet corn and damp straw cracker malt. Pours a well-hazed pale gold, with a frothy, soapy just-off-white head laying above solidly. Flavor is rather bland and boring. There’s some washed out light lemony malt, a bit of grass, and some light lime. Palate is mid-bodied, light and dry. This is pretty mediocre. For an American Ale, this a decent Pilsener. For an American Ale (Blond or APA) it’s pretty damn boring. It’s neither delightfully flavorful, nor delightfully drinkable, instead a paltry attempt to offer Vets a beer that tastes like Bud while helping to instill a sense of Patriotism. Finally, the strong overtones of draft reinstatement on their website leaves an incredibly bitter taste in my mouth. Please do craft beer lovers and sane pacifists a favor and leave this beer on the shelf. Thanks Sean! BigBeer45 (1585) - Michigan, USA - APR 18, 2009
12 oz. bottle, label reads that this beer is made by Michigan Brewing Co., pours a clear yellow gold with a small white head, this looks like a pilsner, there are aromas of light citrus, pear, apple and orange fruit but I got a faint off fruit fragrance and some cooked peas, faint green, grassy hops aroma and little malt sweetness, no toasted malt or bread on the nose, flavor of pear fruit and faint toasted malt with faint hop bitterness and flavor, has a touch of offness in the flavor at the finish, I don’t know if the wrong kind of hops were used or if they are old or maybe they are bad? I could not pin down the offness in flavor. Mouth feel is less than medium with medium carbonation, without the off fragrance
and flavor this might have been a better drink, I do not know if this bottle is old, no date to be found, I will try this again later to see if it is better.

PPWD Trade Show. Great story behind this beer. Visit 3sergeants.com for the whole story. This is a very nice approachable craft beer. It is quite drinkable and as the gentleman at the show told me, a nice gateway beer. It can help commercial beer drinkers take that plunge into microbrews. Easily drinkable and helps support our troops. Now a truly American beer!!!
