Dark brown, fruity, liquoricey nose is so old school. Taste is the same - deep fruity and slightly tangy old ale taste. A step back in time, this has educational value if nothing else. For drinking pleasure, Im really not sure where this fits - its like a light-bodied old ale.

Cask at EBF XVI, 09/11/13. Mid black with a good sized bubbly tan covering. Nose is chocolate, vanilla, light malt bill, brown sugars. Taste comprises cocoa, light roast malts, earthy cocoa, leather, vanilla essence. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, dry lightly roasted closure. Decent enough stout affair.

Cask at the 16th Egham Beer Festival. Egham has a reputation for showcasing some of the newest breweries, but in this case they have opted for one of the oldest. A glossy black pour with a cream head; toffee aroma; rich body with some coffee flavours; and a gently bitter finish. A well made stout.
