Hazed amber liquid with a taller, lasting off white head. Pale dry malt, lightly toasted bread and hint of floral hops in the aromas. Not a hop bomb, just a blonde ale aroma. Flavors are mildly sweet with a hint of sour dough, light fruit and sweeter herbs. Fairly sharp finish and linger. 8/11

Bottle poured a clear golden amber with a small lingering ivory head. Aromas of caramel, earthiness and light citrus. Palate was medium bodied and smoopth. Flavors of caramel, earthiness and a hint of citrus with a smooth finish. BVery (11458) - Plymouth, Minnesota, USA - SEP 17, 2013
Bottle. Slight haze to this orange pour, with a small clingy white head. Malt forward on the nose - earthy and slight caramel - with a touch of hops. Taste is slightly sweet, slightly dry. Kind of ho-hum, but not bad. Beergeek23322 (2602) - Chester, Virginia, USA - AUG 2, 2013

Bottled. Poured clear, bright golden with a short, dense white head. The aroma picked up pale and honey malts with spicy earth and grassy hoppage around.. decent balance to it. The flavor found pale and biscuity malts at the core, with lemon zest, black pepper, and fruity bitterness around.. honey sweetness and nondescript residual bitterness on the finish. Lighter-bodied and grainy on the palate with decent balance.. nothing exciting about this one, but it was drinkable. islay (3114) - Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA - JAN 2, 2012
4 oz. pour from 12 oz. bottle, split with friends while watching the bowl games. Thanks, iradog, for picking this up in Green Bay and sharing. Pours a hazy, light amber with a moderate amount of beige head. Pleasant, malty smell. Dry flavor features melon. Soft in the palate. Thunder River Pale Ale is decent but forgettable. The fourth of five Thunder River beers I sampled in a row.
