Well Thunderbolt is not a regular beer with loads of fizz (like soda) and strong bitter aftertaste. It requires different mannerism to enjoy a Thunderbolt. The beer is rather pleasant to your taste buds and sinks in gradually. It is enjoyed best when chilled at a low temperature. The first sip would signify that it is not run of the mill beer. One needs some patience to actually allow the beer to show some amazing charm. Even with the kind of low levels of alcohol, it will give you subtle kick after couple of bottles and it is from here that you fall in love with this beer. So if you really want to enjoy this beer then have some patience and enjoy the delicate aftereffects. LordNeuf (136) - Acton, Massachusetts, USA - JUL 16, 2002
This is the first beer from India I've tried. Slighty sour on the start, but enjoyable. A clean clear finish without the seltzer water effect. Good preztel beer. shiv007 (1) - chandigarh, INDIA - JAN 5, 2012 does not count

UPDATED: JAN 24, 2004 Tasted in Toronto. Delivered to me from a work friend from India. Fairly impressive 650ml bottle. Label says 'Super Strong'. Then, when I closely observe the label it states:
"Alocholic contents exceeding 5.25% but not exceeding 8.25%" Wow, customs and excise would have a field day with this one!
Great big blue lightning bolt says explicitely that this one is for sale in Punjab only. Must be powerful stuff. Well, here we go.....!.!.!.!
Colour is deep golden. Absolutelty no head. I read the previous postings (all 2 at that) of this beer, and one distinctly stated that:
"Pours with virtually no head and no lace. Bad sign is this stuff flat?"
Well, I can testify, there is no head, nada noting, zip, zippor. Colour is very rich however. Aroma is very interesting. I absolutely love tasting these types of beers. They are rare, not in the 'elite' brewery sense, but in the world traveller, local brew, here it is, and yes, you! my friend get to taste it! sense. Wonderful. The world is a big blue marble!!! Absolutely wonderful! I am halfway around the world. Aroma is absolutely incredibly sweet AND sour. No kidding. With each wift/waft of scent, I cannot localize the aroma...sometimes sweet, sometimes sour. Very dynamic, somewhat mystical.....ooohhh scary..disturbing, ..., delightful.
Man, I keep glaring back at that bloody label..THUNDERBOLT!!!! SUPER STRONG!!!. Hahah. Bring it on boys!!!!
Ok, here goes, all this ranting and only 1 of 5 metrics rated (Appearance 3 on 5). Aroma, due to its ambiguosness [sp] would have to get somewhere between a 7 and 10, roll the ten sided die...several rolls later...ohhh!!!! Its an 8!. So 8 it is. This actually is very close considering the bizareness of the sweetness and sourness of context. Brilliantly subtle man.
Now for the big plunge. Here we go...its flavour!!!!! The first sip had a consistency of flat beer. However, upon closer examination, it reveals a subtle (subtle in this context is used in a very good sense) underlayer. Not heavily carbonated, but carbonation value is present. Very wonderful sweet backbone. And I truly mean backbone - it is there. Things are going on with nuances in the taste, for instance presence of hopped bittereness, sour, almost lambic rogue / wild yeast intrusion!?!?! Good / bad / indifferent?!?! I really don't mind the variance here. Absolutely phenominal diversity. Good stuff. I really like to see these hidden breweries (mount shivalik) lurking in the background, only hidden from the fact the there is a very high probability that they will NEVER be sampled and rated by my fellow ratebeerians. Oh the pain, yet oh the joy!?!?!). Good stuff lads!!!!.

UPDATED: DEC 7, 2003 Pours with virtually no head and no lace. Bad sign is this stuff flat? No, there is a light carbonation with a malty nose - unusual for a lager. Sweet start and a nice sweet crisp finish. Would make a very good lawn mower beer. A clear pale yellow color. $1.75 for a 330ml bottle.

i shouldn't be too hard on this beer because i bought it from the shop in jaipur where it was warm, took it back to my room, had no way of chilling it, waited till it got down to about 30 degrees and then tasted it. of course the alcohol was very evident in aroma and afterburn. somewhere in between was some stickiness and a slight saltiness. it was a bit of an effort to get through a big bottle of this, especially with my gut playing up parth (1) - noida, INDIA - JUN 17, 2012 does not count
The taste is not good. Sometimes the taste varies from state to state. Not a good one to drink. Manslow (1773) - Warsaw, POLAND - MAY 21, 2015
Butelka 0,33l Kolor złoty, piana średnia dośc szybko zanika. Aromat słodowy, smak słodowy, słodki. Można wypic ale nie powala. Spiesy (2338) - Sydney, Greater London, AUSTRALIA - JAN 27, 2007
Bottled, acquired and drunk in Jipru, India.
Next to Kingfisher who has its own airline, this is the most marketed beer in India. Perhaps not as readily available as the marketing would suggest, I walk in several stores advertising it only to find blank faces when I enquired. Short on structure, body and flavour, but long on alcohol, shear brute force alcohol. Another India classic. [Glycerol included]
