UPDATED: APR 5, 2007 Decent creamy head, dark brown. Aroma sweetish and malty, slightly spicy. Flavour rich and malty, nutty, some fruit flavours, full bodied with warm smooth mouthfeel. A little hop bite, brown sauce. A quality brown ale. dj (626) - Greater London, ENGLAND - MAR 25, 2007
Bottle, 500ml. A dark brown colour with a small head. A sweet, slightly malty caramel aroma. Taste is fairly sweet with some roasted malt, caramel and a hint of hoppiness in the background. Light carbonation. Quite tasty. I don’t think this is a bitter - more like a mild.

Pours chestnut brown with thick creamy off white head. Aroma is sweet and nutty. Medium mouthfeel with a roasted and nutty taste. Quite dry in the end and despite the low alcohol content, it warms a little bit. A mild citric bitterness. berkshirejohn (6660) - Bracknell, Berkshire, ENGLAND - OCT 13, 2006
Bottle (Co-op Strong Ale): Chestnut colour with a tan head, caramel aroma. Taste starts malty, but not too sweet, followed by a burst of hops, and then a malty aftertaste. Fin (10917) - Merton, Oxfordshire, England, Oxfordshire, ENGLAND - SEP 11, 2006
Bottled picked up by friend in Co-op, Woodford Halse 09-09-06, as Co-op Strong Ale. Dark brown in colour, good roasty aroma with a roasted malts continuing through into the taste along with some fruitiness, nice body and a jolly decent beer all things considered.
