Bottle 500ml. [ As Co-op Strong (Brown) Ale ]. yespr (45464) - Copenhagen O, DENMARK - JUN 8, 2008
Clear medium red brown color with a small, fizzy, fair lacing, mostly diminishing, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, roasted, caramel, chocolate, brown sugar. Flavor is moderate to light heavy sweet and light bitter with a average duration. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft.
50 cL bottle. Pours dark brown towards black with a lacing tan head. Mild roasted caramel malt aroma. Initial breadish flavour with a mild sweetness. A light bitterness shows through the roasted caramel and breadish flavours. Ends medium dry and bitter with a lingering roasted flavour with mild acidic touches from the roasted malt. A red beer with a thick lazing brown head. The aroma is sweet with notes of berries, while the flavor besides being sweet and notes of berries, also has notes of nuts and malt, leading to a dry end. An OK Brown Ale. joergen (28148) - Frederiksberg, DENMARK - AUG 18, 2005

[Bottled] Dark ruby, rich head. Some roasty malt covered in syrup. Sweetish and mellow with notes of hazelnuts. Medium bodied, some decent malt flavours, fairly low bitterness. Papsoe (25063) - Frederiksberg, DENMARK - AUG 9, 2006
(Bottle 50 cl) Beautiful, clear, reddish brown with a small, off-white head leaving a pretty curtain of laces. Lightly sweet aroma of roasted malt. Medium body, sweet roated malt and a discreet bitterness. Very pleasant drinking - albeit rather mainstream. 090806 cgarvieuk (24515) - Edinburgh, SCOTLAND - MAY 1, 2007
A dark brown colour, with a sweetish malty flavour, but with no real complexity to it. harrisoni (18578) - Ashford, Kent, ENGLAND - JUN 19, 2006
500ml bottle from Co-op, Folkestone. Just bizarre that this little store keeps giving me scoops. This has a pleasant deep ruby colour with a thin lasting beige head. For once the pasteurisation of this beer, doesn’t completely kill it. The boiled sweet nature of such beers actually lends itself to this brown ale. Sweetish malt aroma with dry roasted malts. Nice juicy dark fruits in the mouth, but just a bit empty in the mouthfeel. Finish has more red/dark fruits and a bit of a zing. As a brown ale, it’s pretty good on the fruity flavour. Given the choice from this supermarket, I would pick the Freeminer Gold Miner saxo (18364) - Højbjerg, Aarhus, DENMARK - JUL 16, 2006
Bottle. Medium head with medium duration. Color is dark brown. Aroma is roast malt. Taste is roast malt and molasses.
