3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Half litre bottle, poured into pint glass. Bronze auburn colour, clear, one finger off white head. Retained a fair amount of lacing. Aroma had hints of Fuggles and Goldings hop with some apple, also had to think of a north German style Pilsner. Tasted pine and citrus fruits (mainly grapefruit) sharp finish, moderate bitterness. Smooth texture, decent carbonation, slightly watery body. Overall it lacked the character of some ESBs and was slightly too strong to session as Andrew Flintoff found out after 17 pints at the 2007 cricket world cup in Barbados.
Bottle 50cl. @home poured into a pint glass. Clear medium amber, small and fast disappearing frothy off-white head, light lacing; mild aroma, toasted malts, caramel, toffee; taste medium sweet and bitter, malty, toffee, metallic notes; mild malty sweetbitter aftertaste, burnt caramel, light hops; light body, watery texture, soft carbonation; conventional, easy to drink. Botella de 50 cl adquirida en Lidl. Bonito color cobre con una corona de espuma beige que se disipa rápidamente. Aromas a maltas y caramelo. Sabor amargo con notas a galleta, levadura y especias. yorkiebeermaster (13) - - OCT 23, 2017
Lancaster Bomber supposedly a classic English Ale chestnut in colour. It’s another from the Marstons Brewery of Wolverhampton and this ain’t too shabby either.
Quite like this one.

Bottle from a local Lidl. Aroma is malty with notes of caramel toffee. Moderate sweet flavour with a moderate bitter finish. Light to medium body. Drinkable, but doesn't have a lot of character.
