COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Bottle: Filtered.
Originally brewed by Thwaites, the brand was contract brewed at Marston’s Wolverhampton plant (Banks’s) from 2013, then bought completely by Marston in March 2015. The brand initially continued to be sold under the Thwaites name and logo, but by 2016 the Thwaites name had been dropped.
"This rich amber beer is brewed with only the finest English ingredients. A prominent hop aroma and bitterness throughout is finely balanced with a full malt flavour, leading to a dry bitter finish."

19-01-2018; bottle; drank in Voss, Norway (bought at Lidl supermarket, The Netherlands). The looks of the beer are nice. The color of the beer is somewhere in between chestnut and amber. It has a nice bright glow. The beer has a touch of cloudiness. On top some off-white foam is formed. Not to maybe...and foam retention is rather low. A minimal drape is left after some time. The smell of the beer is very mild. I don't smell a lot at all. There seem to bee some touches of malts and a hoppy herbal touch, but to be honest it is to weak to tell. The taste of the beer is a lot stronger. There are some nice full malty flavours. They give sweetness, caramel flavorous, some fruity notes and an overall malty aspect. Quite nice. There are also some nice and bitter hops. The hops give a nice herbal and fruity note. Together with the malts, they are in great balance. The palate of the beer is nice. The beer has a medium body, smooth texture and a medium high carbonation. The finish of the beer is fine. It has some nice sweet malts and fruity hops. All in all, a nice beer with some firm bitter hops.

Bottle from Vrutak shared with Jolly Rogers at a rehearsal. Clear amber, minimal head. Nice hoppy aroma, fruity, toasty malts and red fruits. Dry, balanced but very faint. Light body, creamy texture, soft to moderate carbonation, lightly malty finish. Started promising, ended as an average bitter.

A coppery beer, a head is almost medium and blond. Aroma is mild, wood and some toffee. Taste is nicely fresh, wood, some sweetness of toffee, balancing bitterness. Lihgt+ bodied. Traditional, but in a good way, nicely fresh.

Lancaster Bomber supposedly a classic English Ale chestnut in colour. It’s another from the Marstons Brewery of Wolverhampton and this ain’t too shabby either. Quite like this one. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle from a local Lidl. Aroma is malty with notes of caramel toffee. Moderate sweet flavour with a moderate bitter finish. Light to medium body. Drinkable, but doesn't have a lot of character.
