Mainly bottle conditioned. Has been seen in cask as Very Nutty Black.

Higher abv version of Thwaites mild, which has been sold under various names.
Previously sold as Very Nutty Black
Normally brewed solely for the home market, Daniel Thwaites has broken all the rules with an export strength version of its award winning ale. The same great well rounded flavours and nuttiness lie within but bottles will now leave Lancashire destined for the Far East (Leeds) and even remote areas of the southern hemisphere (such as Watford).

Bottle. Black in colour, dark ruby against light. Malty; roasty malts, caramel, chocolate, liquorice, nuts?. Hoppy; slight hops. Roast malty, mildly bittersweet throughout. Dry in the finish. Liked this. Very decent. Nice Mild! (2010-06)

Bottle : Deep brown with a very short lasting tan head, if any. Nice fruity caramel aroma, sweet taste with dried fruits and mild liquorice. Feeling a bit thin and fairly well carbonated. Ok.

Some good milds around these days. This is not one of them. Very dark, with a lovely toffee coloured head, which is gone after about 20 seconds. Light palate, little aroma. Taste has chocolate and sweet malt - not very nutty.

Orange_times (330) - UKRAINE - SEP 24, 2015

Not much in the way of aroma dark brown with nice silky head and ringlets, very smooth and velvety slightly thin body maybe a hint of coffee decent for a mild

jackafholmes (1024) - - JUL 1, 2015
Bottle from waitrose. Dark brown with short lived head. Aroma is indeed nutty, with teacle and a bit of tin. Taste is mild but sweet and bitter. Nice beer.

MiP (16083) - Sønderborg, DENMARK - JUN 7, 2015
Bottle, 3.9%. No aroma as far as I can tell. Clear shiny dark chestnut colour. Small frothy off-white head. The flavour is watery with a hint of sweet liquorice. Fruity and watery finish. Tastes all right, but is very thin, even considering its ABV.
