I am surprised by all the low scores on this.... it is not the best i had but thr nutty black is overall a beer i would keep in stock and even drink as a session beer since it is only 3.9ABV. It stands for normal times great for sports nights, and also would be good to hve at a steak dinner.not a world class brew but a good one to be sure. Hint i suggest pouring it into a pint as this type would be best in. It lets your head be better. SilverfoX (879) - Norfolk, ENGLAND - JUN 13, 2014
incredibly gassy bottle, powdered chocolate aroma, massive head that thankfully vanishes so you can see a (nutty) black body that tastes sweet and rich, fizzy and watery though still enjoyable. Christos (5897) - Arnhem, NETHERLANDS - MAY 7, 2014
Bottle 500 ml at home. Labeled simply Nutty Black but the barcode and ABV 3.9% fit, so I am rating it under this. Into a big tulip. goozen (4150) - Leiden, NETHERLANDS - APR 13, 2014
Pours dark brown, with ruby shades where light hits it. Huge dark beige head, thick and creamy, with great retention, leaving medium lacing on the glass.
Aroma is unexpectedly fruity, berries like, some liquorice.
Taste has roasted malts, red fruits, a bit of stale coffee, grass.
Medium thin body, good carbonation, very dry initially on the palate but after that the dryness seems to tone down a bit.
Overall a tasty beer and very easy to drink.
Bottle 0,5ltr: Very dark brown coloured brew with an slightly sweet bitter taste and hints chocolaye, nutty and roasted malts. This was the 3.9% abv bottled version! Cantabrian (1161) - Christchurch NZ, now Brisbane, AUSTRALIA - APR 4, 2014
Bottle. Too cold to start, witjh some chocolate, old wood shavings, butter and hazelnuts on the aroma and flavour. When warmer it did not improve much. Watery, not a mild out of this world.

good aroma pleasant. A nice dark appearance and promises of a silky smooth pint. The taste disappointed me. I was expecting more but t tasted a bit diluted. Overall it was ok but not one I would buy again mighty_meadow (308) - Kilwinning, SCOTLAND - FEB 18, 2014
At first I served this a bit too cold which had a negative impact on the beer. As it warmed slightly the beer improved considerably and started to give off all sorts of flavours, nuts, dark fruits, raisins, toffee all tickled the tastebuds while a slight hoppiness waited in the wings to give a subtle, bitter finish. All in all a nice beer if you do as it says on the label, serve cool NOT chilled. kufdam (159) - Berkshire, ENGLAND - JAN 24, 2014
500ml bottle poured into a tulip glass. The colour of cola. Similar carbonation and flat head. Taste wss mild roast and a bit one dimensional. Okay. s_hartshorne (2815) - wakefield, West Yorkshire, ENGLAND - JAN 19, 2014

from an english shop in Neuchâtel - black beer with a foamy beige head; aroma of cacao and chestnuts; moderate malt backbone, overcarbonated and light acidic, quite dry and gently bitter, more notes of nuts and cacao in the finish
