Surprisingly refreshing for a full-flavoured dark porter with subtle notes of smokiness and liquorice. A taste of the past, inspired by a time when the elite would gather in Elizabethan taverns, to sample the finest ales, porters and wines.

Bottle from Morrisons. Poured black, with a thin tan head. Aroma of dark malt, light earth and molasses. Thick mouthfeel. Roasted malt flavours, with dates and coffee. Finish was burnt malt, roasted nuts and liquorice.

Bottle. Huge brownish head. Thick black. Sweet malts and coffee on aroma. Dark chokolate, coffee, herbs and sweet roasted malts on aroma. Medium to light bodied is thin and watery, not in balance with flavours.

Vetinen. Suomen säännöstö taas pilannut hyvän tuotteen. Lupaus ilman lunastusta. On parempiakin.

500ml bottle from Beers of Europe. Think it’s past is BBE, so I’ll forgive the over-carbonation. Pours black, thick beige head. Aromas of liquorice, molasses. Taste is more of the same, slightly sweet. Full bodied though. Not bad.

E o gosto permanece. No geral, não achei uma boa cerveja.

large creamy light brown head. excellent lacing. mostly diminishing. flat thick black body. aroma: moderate burnt malt, mild coffee and olive. if: light sweet acidic and bitter. ff: light sweet moderate acidic light bitter and acetic (vinegar); long duration. palate: light medium body, watery/oily texture, lively carbonation, metallic light astringent finish. Lembra espuma de coca. Leve acidez/lembrança de azedume surge como grave defeito no estilo. Dulçor maltado e com presença de café. Vencimento para outubro. Na segunda metade, sabor fica azedo com background de café.3 s

fizz. far to much fizz. this was going to be my nightcap but i see i shall have to wait for it too calm down, couldnt be bothered scraped the foam down the sink! so anyways.. caramel, roasty, chocolate, black, hazy, sparkling, frothy, tan foam, light sweetness, medium bitterness, lightly sour, medium body, fizzy. i think this is one ill have to give another go, it wasnt awful it was just the over carbonation has put me off.

Black, creamy head. Roasted coffee, chocolate, liquorice. Medium sweetness, medium palate. Pretty standard mild porter.

Bottled (From K Citymarket Kivihaka, Vaasa). Deep brown colour, small brown head. Aroma is roasted malts, some mild smoke and a bit buttery notes along with some chocolate. Flavour is chocolate, mild roasted malt and some slight smoky and ashy notes. A bit wooden and slightly tart edge to it Smooth porter, but a bit thin as for the palate.

TET (3351) - Kaarina, FINLAND - JUN 6, 2014
A colablack beer with a dense, creamy, quite big and beige head. The nose is balanced. Dark chocolate, liquirice and roastiness, hint of coffee. Taste is quite dry and roasted, some sourness and salt, coffee in the end. Quite light to drink but it’s not bothering too much. Aroma is good but then the taste is slightly too thin and simple. Anyway, good beer.
