Bottle: Pasteurised.
Originally brewed by Thwaites, the brand was contract brewed at Marston’s Wolverhampton plant (Banks’s) from 2013, then bought completly by Marston in March 2015. The brand continues to be sold under the Thwaites name and logo.

Brewed to celebrate the Lake District’s most beloved author, Alfred Wainwright. A full and golden coloured ale with delicate fruit flavours and subtle sweetness.

500ml bottle in mixed ale box from Waitrose. Pours light golden with a short whote head. Slightly citrus aroma, also some floral and bread dough. Drinkable but rather dull.

Bottle from Morrisons. Beautiful golden pour with small white head. Not much of an aroma. Sweet and malty with a touch of fruity bitterness to finish. Very easy drinkable, nice enough but very simple.
