black beer, beige head. smells hoppy, caramelly, of some coffee and has a hint of roasted chestnuts, but hoppy too. aftertaste of coffee-like roastyness and good hoppyness.
Bottled, thanks Bov! Very black, small head. Vague chocolate aroma. Dryish and clean with some syrup and chocolate. Light bodied and with low bitterness. A very careful beer, yet it’s somewhat inharmonious.

Bottled 49cl. It pours a decent dark beer with a lightly tanned quick diminishing head. Rather acidic. Hints of peanuts showing up. Poor lacework. Bov (13221) - Bienne, SWITZERLAND - FEB 1, 2007
UPDATED: SEP 4, 2008 courtesy of Hansruedi Giger; sampled as Oberfricker Hopfe-Tropfe Schwarzbier - very dark brown colour, little foam; a bit toasty with notes of chocolate; medium-bodied, a touch of acidity and a moderate chocolatey finish - nothing special
