COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Imagine what happens when you take a nuanced cider filled with tannins and acid; smoke it over apple wood – the same wood that produced the apples – which gives it a light sweetness. Infuse that smoked cider with the earthiness of pumpkin. The apple juice steps back, allowing the smoke to be your first experience, followed by the earthiness of the pumpkin and finishes with the acid of the cider.

Bottle pour at Frankies, counting down the days. Pumpkin season, pumpkin beers, pumpkin ciders. Why not? Pours clear with no head. Apple cinnamon apple sauce like aroma. Flavor is minimal pumpkin, and more cinnamon apple cider spice. Light, smooth flavor. Hints to be tart. Tasty fall cider here.

500 ml bottle to snifter (thanks Mom). Looks decent; a fairly transparent lighter golden orange with bubbly white lacing that dissipates quickly and completely. Smells of apple juice with a bit of pumpkin in the background. Tastes like it smells with a mildly tart medium-bodied mouthfeel. A little bit of smoke on the tongue as well that emerges more as the cider warms. Not bad, but underwhelming.

Bottle. Pours a mostly clear golden color with very little head on it. Nose has some dry apply notes, but doesn’t have a lot of smoke or pumpkin coming through. Taste is moderately sweet with just a hint of smoke to it on the aftertaste. OK.

Brilliant gold color. Small, pure white ring head. Aroma is masala and curry. The smoke takes a back seat. Very smooth palate. Soothes after a harsh beer. Earthy pumpkin notes marry nicely with natural cidery sweetness. A real impressive adjunct cider.

500 ml bottle. Served in a pint glass, the cider pours a mostly clear gold color with about a quarter inch white head that fizzled away quickly. The aroma is mostly sweet and tart apples, along with some pumpkin spices and smokiness. The taste is just like the aroma, it tastes mostly like sweet and tart apples, with some pumpkin spiciness and smoke noticeable too. However, the smokiness does come out a little more as the cider warms. Mouthfeel/body is medium, it’s a bit coating with moderate carbonation. I liked this, and I wouldn’t mind trying it again. $7.99 a bottle.

Had been really looking forward to this one. The pumpkin spices were ok, but the body fell flat and the smoke was more ashtray than campfire.

16.9 oz bottle, thanks brenn79. Aroma is super stinky--3 week old gym socks sitting in vinegar is what I’m smelling. Pours hazy piss yellow with minimal foam. Taste is rancid and sour, vegetal, barely detectable smoke. Average carbonation, slick mouthfeel. Well, I thought it was going to be a drainpour, but maybe I can finish it with a little willpower.

Gription79 (2886) - Bountiful, Utah, USA - DEC 29, 2014
Poured from a 500ml bottle. The aroma comes across as sweaty sock. Lactic like, soft smoke, rotten vegetable, earthy. The flavor is much more pleasant, apple, firm tartness, earthy, very light smoke, woody. This would be so much better if the aroma was pleasant. Footbalmed.

Pale yellow not much head. Light pumpkin, smoke, sweet, andntart. Easy palate, no smoke, tart, sour, crisp and refreshing.

Beerdrinker79 (2188) - Idaho, USA - OCT 31, 2014
500 ml bottle- Pours hazy straw golden with a thin crackly head. Aroma is lacking in the smoke department, overripe apples, a little farmhouse funk is nice, the pumpkins add more of a basic vegetal aroma. The taste is similar, apples, fruity, some funk, smooth, but i was really hoping for more from this. Still not bad.
