4.3 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Draft at Tap House Grill, Westmont. Finally get to pop the cap on another recent Chicago brewer. I found myself really liking this and thinking it was a Double IPA. Let me count the ways: a sudsy IPA head over a bright, brassy body. I thought I was just getting a snootful of Mr. Cascade Hopp and his lupalin friends, not having a full description of the beer in front of me. But definitely a very fresh hop beer. Bold taste combining pine, resin and citrus. Lemony aftertaste from the hops, but still matched by plenty of big malts.
Okay, not great. Tasted at Bill's pizza and pub in Mundelein Illinois on June 30, 2017.

This was sent to me by Strykzone. Thanks Dave. Pours light ambe with a white head .Nose of all kinds of hops, including aromas of citrus, pine, floral, and tropical fruit. Medium in body with as somewhat resinous mouthfeel. Flavor is caramel malts, with a lot of hop taste, with grapefruit, tangerine, pine, and something spicy. The finish comes off a pine and grapefruit zest bitter. Quite good. Scipio (1188) - Palatine, Illinois, USA - JUN 12, 2017
Pours an amber that is a bit cloudy with a medium white head. The aroma is a little subdued, consisting of floral hops, caramel, bread, pine, and grapefruit. The nose is balanced well. The taste is bitter and dry. A lot of what I found in the aroma is here in the taste. This is stronger in pine and grapefruit, with a solid caramel backbone. Slightly herbal, bread, and some mild resin is here as well. The aftertaste is short and potent with a pine flavor. Light in body, a thin, yet sticky texture, and some lively carbonation. Very refreshing and easily drinkable. Considering its only 4.8, this is an easy go to when you want to keep things light. Strykzone (7586) - Wood River, Illinois, USA - FEB 16, 2017
16 oz. can. cloudy tangerine colored beer that has an off white head. Not a big aroma but it is pleasant featuring fruit and yeast. Feel is thin but there are plenty of malts tasted. Complex hops that i am not sold on early in the glass. Fruit is tropical but also something "down under" about it. Bitterness is bigger than expected for a session. drpimento (3736) - La Crosse, Wisconsin, USA - JAN 5, 2017
Aroma is similar to the Irie IPA. Flavor isn’t as rich or balanced though. Body is summer haul a little thinner. The regular IPA is much better.

Solid session pale. Fresh mildly hop aroma. Nice balance. Slightly watery mouthfeel. Enough meat on the bone to satisfy hardcore IPA drinkers. Niko100 (2985) - Chicago, New York, USA - SEP 16, 2016

Red-orange pour with a beige head. Aroma is citrusy hops, fruity. Very tasty- fruity, dry and resinous in the finish. Lacing shown from the start. Nice malt backbone. frankenkitty (2012) - Oak Lawn, Illinois, USA - FEB 14, 2016
Huge, off-white head that refuses to settle over a perfectly amber, effervescent body. I poured this and told my wife "this is on the delicate side for a DIPA". And then I looked and saw this is a "session IPA"? Wow. It has HUGE piney aromas with latent citrics and apparent alcohol. Flavor is congruent to the aroma, hearty pine and citrus hopping, long lasting on the palate. Seriously... I bought this for the label-art and was subsequently deceived (and then impressed) by the content. ~~~~ 22 oz. bomber from Kenwood Liquours, Oak Lawn, IL, Jan. 2016.
