Bottle, 355ml. A ruby red beer with a medium size foamy head. Aroma is of roasted malt, alcohol, dry fruits and spieces. Taste is bitter, somewhat watery, with hign carbonation and some astringency. Slightly strong toasted finish. wheresyourball (572) - El Cajon, California, USA - SEP 25, 2011
Bottle, served very cold. Nice orange/red color. Tasty light chocolate and malt flavor, but somewhat watery. lovemyipas (544) - nw burbs, Illinois, USA - FEB 20, 2008
pours a clear light brown with a two finger fluffy brown head. aroma is toasted caramel malt with a little hops. has a light to medium body with descent lacing and carbonation. flavor is the same as aroma but a touch stronger especially the malt. has just a touch of a dry aftertaste and the malt sticks to the tongue for a bit. not my style but not bad. the aroma does get a little stronger as it warms to match my flavor rating. Bottle. Pours with spare white head on a dark mahogany body. Aroma is of caramel malt, dark roast, toast. Flavor comes in lightly sweet and stock full of tons of toasty, roasty, malty goodness. Almost so damn burnt and toasty it’s overwhelming. Laced with little bits of coffee, vanilla, and dark chocolate. The finish is fairly dry while being crisp and clean both. Light in body and feels a touch flat. Nothing is in this beer that I don’t like, very good overall. SG (465) - Valley Center, California, USA - OCT 19, 2004
Bottle. Dark red/brown hue with a small head. The nose smells delicious: malt, roasty, nutty, chocolate, and sweetness. Very smooth and round on the palate. Roasted flavors abound, and a tiny hop bitterness that didn’t show up in the nose peeks its way into the mix. Unlike their guera I had earlier this week, the bottled morena holds up to the quality and freshness I tasted at the brewery on tap. Very enjoyable, and highly recommended.

Pours a dark ruby with a creamy, light beige head. Strong roasted malt notes in the odor. The taste starts off of light caramel and ends with a slight burnt toast aftertaste. An interesting beer, definitely better than I expected. alafito (334) - tijuana, MEXICO - APR 28, 2006
From draft, in a sampler mug. Poured a coke color with a creamy light tan head. Aromas of caramel malts, barley and some very light coffe and chocolate flavors. The palate is plesant with good carbonation, but although the flavor is good, it is barelty noticeable. Although i like darker beers i prefered its lighter sister (Guera). dalfaro86 (309) - Mexico City, MEXICO - FEB 21, 2012
Weak aroma with notes of yeast and caramel, light bodied and refreshing, high carbonatation, the flavor has notes of caramel and roasted malts, slightly bitter dry finish. slightly above macro clong83 (285) - San Diego, California, USA - JUN 30, 2012
Picked this up not having seen "craft" beer from Mexico before. It’s a traditional Mexican Vienna. (which should probably be its own distinct style)
Nose is malty, flavor profile is sweet and malty, with caramel and even some very subtle dark fruit hints. A bit one-dimensional, but very drinkable. Welcome to craft brewing, Mexico! Yased (269) - MEXICO - JAN 4, 2016
