Nice black currant flavor, light tannins, hops. Amber brown clear with off-white lacing head. Medium watery body with medium-high carbonation. Starts with good currant flavor, light hops. Sugary. Finish is chalky fruity. After is nice currant flavor. Decent cassis, but not spectacular.

UPDATED: AUG 4, 2004 Bottled. Dark amber, hazy. Interesting black currant sorbet aroma. Very sweet and one-dimensional. Perhaps a vague hint of acidity.

Foamy though fast disappearing head on a amber orange body. Sour and woody in the aroma with some berries but not a lot. Flavor is quite dry and tart (more than expectet...) with obvious notes of old wood and blueberries. Foamy mouthfull. Good, but does taste a little old!

Bottled. Ruby red and a bit hazy. Distinct cassis-aroma and flavour. Rather sweet, though fresh.

UPDATED: JUN 6, 2004 A ruby red beer with a beutiful lasting pink head. The aroma is sweet fruity with strong notes of cherries. The flavor is slightly sour, but also sweet, with strong cherry notes, and it has a woody finish. A great flavor and the best cassis I've ever had, since it is not too sweet and has a fuller flavor.

Bottle, at The Anhor, Birmingham. Odd brownish colour. Smells like fruit pastilles. Not an immediate blackcurrant taste, some tartness and general fruit flavour - giving way to a beery aftertaste. Initially this is almost meaty, subsiding into crisp fruit, almost heading towards Gueuze territory, but enough sweetness to differentiate. OK, but not outstanding fruit beer.

jbrus (4990) - Delft, NETHERLANDS - SEP 17, 2003
Bit dusty cassis aroma. Hazy, red color, small pink head, nice lace. Sour, tart, oak, fruity, cassis. Dusty dry very cassis finish. Actually the first Gueuze Cassis I liked.

Hildigöltur (5104) - København, DENMARK - JUL 27, 2003
UPDATED: JUN 1, 2004 A refreshing summer beer. The cassis flavour and aroma seems slightly natural and nice and goes well together with the slight lambic sourness.

Nice, distinctive flavor of cassis (my old boss introduced me to creme de cassis, put into the bottom of a wine glass before adding white wine, for a nice apertif). The first hit was sour, but after that it mellowed and carried through a certain bubbly drinkability. Not stunning in its boldness or complexity but a decent fruit lambic that my wife would enjoy.

nigos (631) - Ipswich, Suffolk, ENGLAND - JUN 10, 2003
Blackcurrent, lemonade aroma. Pours to a ruby colour with large off white head. Bitter, sweet blackcurrent taste with the acidity of a loire sauvignon blanc, which I like very much. A reasonable lambic, good wine like characteristics.
