COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Oude Gueuze is an appellation controlee : its label is protected. It is also known as the champagne of beers, especially as it is only available as a limited edition. Timmermans Oude Gueuze’s special flavour derives from its time-honoured method of preparation. It is a blend of old lambic, which has been aged for three years in wooden barrels, and young lambic which ensures spontaneous fermentation in the bottle. The different lambics are carefully selected by the brewer to obtain a perfect flavour. After it has been produced, Timmermans Oude Gueuze, which is refermented for four months in the bottle, continues to improve for 20 years.

Pours a beautiful orange beer with a not very long lasting head. Smells delicious sour. Taste is heavy sour with a very little bitter end.

2013er bottle, 37.5cl. Nice intense sour nose of horse blanket. The beer starts extreme sourish, nice fruity sourness with lots of funk and horse blanket. Peaches, yellow grapes. Lots of fruity acidity, intense and very deep. Wood there, sour fruit, fantastic long sourish deep aftertaste. Great stuff!

Bottle from Chevy Chase Wine and Spirits. TIMMAY!!! Hazy good with some floaties and an uninspired head. Aroma is sour green apple, funk, butter. Sour flavor, acetic, unripe apple and stone fruit. Medium body, biting, average carbonation. Fine, but weak for the style.

Ma première oude gueuse, plutôt sympa avec son originalité. Un gout citronné et un peu acide, pas amère.

Aroma: Tart fruits, slight sourness.
Taste: Tart fruits, lemon, sourness. Dry. Not all bad, though.
Bought: Trade with Grzesiek79 - thanks!, 375 ml

UPDATED: SEP 9, 2017 Uklar gul i glasset.

Kita (2215) - Koper, SLOVENIA - AUG 22, 2017
Bottle, 0.375l, shared with Patrick. Pours clear orange amber color with thin quickly diminishing head and soft visible carbonation. Aroma of grape skin, wine, yeast, funk and some tannins. Taste starts light sweet and sour grainy and woody, following is yeasty, musty, tart and vinous, mouthfeel is dry and astringent, while finish is almost without any bitterness. Light to medium body, thin texture and average carbonation in palate. Cheap and very tasty...
