COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The flavour of Timmermans Oude Kriek, refermented in the bottle, is without comparison. The cherries from which it derives its taste and colour it features traditionally come from Schaerbeek. Slightly acidic and with a wonderful bouquet, this natural and hence unpredictable brew requires careful handling throughout its long maturation period. Created from a blend of old and young lambic, Timmermans Oude Kriek keeps for 12 years. Like Timmermans Oude Gueuze, this is a precious drink, available in a limited edition only !

Lukaduke (3206) - Gray, Maine, USA - DEC 26, 2015
Pours a deep vibrant cherry red color with a finger of pink foam. Nose is deep spicy cherry pie with layers of funk and earth must. Palate is way too sour for my palate. Burning throat acidity with lots of cherry flavor but just too much aceto and vinegar for me to enjoy.

Sample at Örebro Öl & Whisky 2015. Funky and fruity with berries, well cherries. Very sour taste, sharp almost on the edge of vinegar. Nice though.

Cherry , sour, almost vinegar feeling, no head, soft carbonation, not balanced, meh

SinH4 (4719) - Garching b. München, GERMANY - NOV 7, 2015
UPDATED: NOV 8, 2015 2013 vintage. Murky purple color with a fast-downgoing head. Aroma has a sour cherry sting, lemon acidity, some wood. Taste is lemony, sour cherries. Dry sour finish. Very fizzy carbonation. Quite a face melter. Very sour, with some off flavours like hints of chalk. Not the best balance and not the best complexity, but way better than the sweetened Krieks by Timmermans.

SkillsFactory (739) - ITALY - NOV 5, 2015
2009, aperta il 5 Novembre 2015. Color ciliegia con riflessi rosa, limpida, schiuma quasi bianca quasi inesistente. Aroma lattico, stallatico, acido, ciliegia, leggero legno umido. Al palato astringente e molto acida, acre, acetica, ciliegia anch'essa acida, citrica, un po' legnosa. Corpo medio, molto carbonata. Possibile che sia invecchiata male, troppo sbilanciata su un'acidità troppo acre.

DocLock (10659) - Lower Pottsgrove, Pennsylvania, USA - OCT 30, 2015
750 cc from Capone’s. Pours hazy and deep magenta with minimal head. Nose is earthy, tart, cherry. Tastes of tart cherry, earthy notes, and a tart finish.

Très sûrette, peut-être un peu trop comparativement aux saveurs et au corps proposé. Les notes sont tout de fois naturelles et agréables. Au bout du compte ce n’est clairement pas un coup de coeur, mais un Kriek qui se tient debout quand même.

hackobock (4008) - Stockholm, SWEDEN - OCT 3, 2015
October 3, 2015. Bottle.
Cloudy red with a large frothy pinkish head. Aroma is tart and sweet juicy cherries, hints of oak, chalk, almond and slight cough syrup. Taste is medium sour, light sweet. Finish is dry oak, sour cherries, lemon, lasting sour. Medium bodied, average carbonation.
Quite nice, a bit simple with high acidity and some slight weird, muddled almond and chalk notes.

ciocanelu (2466) - Timisoara, ROMANIA - OCT 1, 2015
Hazy, dark pink color with light pink, foamy head that fizzes away quickly. Aroma is a bit unexpected, with some medicinal, kind of herbal notes but also cherries. Taste is really sour and dry up front. Really fruity as well. Not really funky but it has some interesting yeast notes. Carbonation is on the high side and body feels pretty light. Overall it’s a nice, fruity lambic but a bit too acidic for my taste.
