imdownthepub (14467) - Banbury, Oxfordshire, ENGLAND - MAY 1, 2017
Bottle, 500ml obtained by Sandra from a B&M, probably in Banbury, Oxon drunk at the Jamboree Barbecue. Gold with white head. There is a boiled caramel hint to this, some cereal then an earthy hopped note. Some bitterness, some leafy notes. It’s okay.

Cask. Golden colour. Malty (grainy malts, light roast, caramel, toffee). Fruity (dry fruits, raisins). Spicy. Sweetish malty fruity. Drying bitter finish. Drinkable. (2008)

330ml bottle from b&m. Pours clear dark amber with a this chi, rocky off-white head. Aromas of toffee, nuts, light raisins. Taste is mineral, iron, toffee, more nuts. Chalky finish. Not bad.

BlackHaddock (7232) - Shropshire, ENGLAND - JUN 16, 2015
Live rate on 16th June 2015 while cooking a minced beef chilli after cutting the lawns and walking the dog: this is my reward to myself. Tangerine orange body, not quite fully clear when poured into my Abbot Ale glass tankard. The head is deep and full, off-white blanket of uneven foam which appears to be lasting. Malt lead in both the aroma and taste, semi-sweet initially with toffee and caramel hints, grapefruit flavour mid-sip, with a dry hoppy finish that seems to have a peppery and metallic twang to it. All good apart from the finish: what a shame. Bought from B&M Bargains, so cost cock all but my score is lower because of that metallic like feel in the finish.

DruncanVeasey (8225) - NUNEATON, Warwickshire, ENGLAND - JUN 2, 2015
Bottle from B&M. Dry and harsh in the old school Northern fashion; the bitterness of hop without aromatic complications or owt fancy; toffee hints, background dried fruit and creamy fig attempts smashed by bitterness. Back of tongue bitter linger. Metallic aroma with more pleasing fudge as it warms. Honey amber with a loose and transient foam. Not loveable.

BeerViking (4710) - Brentford, Greater London, ENGLAND - APR 28, 2015
Bottle from B&M, amber-brown with a medium head, peppery hops and a little toffee malt on the nose. Dry and lightly toasty, with a firm hoppy and burnt bitterness.

christhoel (286) - chesterfield, Derbyshire, ENGLAND - APR 19, 2015
clear amber with a fruity hop aroma. The taste is similar - apple, citrus and hop flavours swirl together on a smooth palate and a long bitter finish gives you time to enjoy them. A very nice bitter.

3.3
zacgillbanks (5128) - Tyne & Wear, ENGLAND - APR 18, 2015
Bottles from b&m, Team Valley, Gateshead and York Beer & Wine. Golden coloured with burnt toffee and orange marmalade flavours followed by a bitter grapefruit finish.

anfractuosity (409) - - APR 13, 2015
Nice ale, good bitterness, maybe a bit of nuttiness coming through from the malts.
