Bottle. Pours hazy orange amber with decent off white head and big lace. well retained. Earthy floral aromas, grain, light caramel. Medium light body, chewy, creamy mouthfeel, carbonation is medium. Caramel, grains, hop bitterness and flavour apparent right through the refreshing finish. Tasty beer.

0.5 l bottle from K-Supermarket Kamppi, Helsinki. Appearance is amber and clear, also bubbly with a nice head. Taste has a crisp bite, then there are the English malts. No bitter aftertaste. More in the vein of pale ale than bitter.

Ramenée d’un voyage au R.U. Nez intéressant, beau col de mousse généreuse et aérée. Un peu trop amère à mon goût

Pours amber with moderate head. Taste is well balanced hops with a distinct malt character. Not as sweet as some beers with the same malt flavors, which is a plus.

Bottle given to me, so might be a bit old. Poured light copper with a medium white head, translucent. Wasn’t getting much of a scent, just a bit of malt. Tasting that same roasted malt with maybe a bit of fruitiness? Clean and crisp with a light bitterness.

Poured into a Landlord pint glass (all the years of nicking glasses from pubs has finally paid off...). This captures the basic flavor and aroma of the cask version and sends it around the world without much degradation. The taste is dominated by the spicy/earthy flavor of the Styrian Golding hops, which gives it that slight edge over most other bitters.

Poured from a bottle into an English pint. The color is a stunning, clear copper with a tight, tan head that nicely laces the glass. Malty aroma of caramel, medium body and average carbonation. Moderately bitter with a lingering finish. Very satisfying.

Appearance: Amber\copper colour with good lacing. Nose: some creamy vomit notes, caramel, malt and yeast. Taste: semi-sweet with some caramel, yeast, hops, roasted malt and a bit of bitterness on the aftertaste. Fairly mediocre, but a good session ale and often readily available on draught. Price Paid: around £2.
