Bottle, 0.5l. Clear copper pour with two finger soapy off-white head, quickly diminishing. Nice lacing. Subtle nose, slightly herbal, a bit woody, touch of hops... Mandarins? Nice. Thin to medium body, average carbonation. Smooth on the tongue. Taste is subtly bitter and very refreshing. Aroma of herbs and earthy hops. Very nice mouthfeel, subtle but rich at the same time. Chamomile. Tea leaves. Subtle malty character. Slightly peppery. Finish is long and dry, a bit bitter with some woody notes. Overall, quite tasty. Light and easy drinking, but perfectly balanced and rich. Very good brew, refreshing and easy drinking.

This is a seminal model for other Pale Ales to follow. It has that Flinty Burton Water character, its very drinkable indeed.Golden Promise is a rarely used Malt these days because of expense and other factors, which are another story. But boy does it make this,in conjunction with the Burtony and classic Hops, one gigantic master of a low Alcohol Beer (but not weak by any measure). It hath Hay,Nuts and Toast sure,a bit Floral and Citrus yes,a little of the barnyard and rotten eggs yes,yes perfect.

500ml bottle into pint glass. Pours bronze with a big cap of white froth on top. Aroma of caramel toffees and dark fruit. Medium carbonation. In the mouth it is zingy and lightly bitter. Finish is long with emerging fruit and long hoppy bitterness. Great bitter, beautifully balanced.
