Sample from a 12 oz. bottle at St. Louis Microfest 2011. Pours a cloudy yellow-gold color with a small white head. Aroma of banana, clove, wheat, and sweet bready malts. Flavor follows suit, and the notes really pop well. Light-bodied, with moderate carbonation and a smooth, bready mouthfeel and dry finish. Nice hefe.

Bottle @ home, courtesy of gooovikings. Medium to high cloudiness, yellow-orange appearance with a lively orangish white head. Fairly potent clove and somewhat lesser banana aromas with a bit of spicy yeast and wheat. Fairly spicy, yeasty, medium clove, light banana, a touch tart wheat ale flavor with a fairly dry finish. Slightly bready, yeasty aftertaste.

Dark golden, even a bit copper colored. A big white uneven head has strong retention. Nose is clove and banana. Flavor begins earthy with clove. Bananas and citrus fruit. Quite crisp. Finish is creamy and the earthiness has smoothed out. A very nice hefe.

Another solid beer from this great little brewpub. Pours hazy yellow with a small white head. The aroma has lots of sweet banana and very rich wheat malt that reminds me in a big way of Dancing Man from New Glarus. Medium body that’s more grainy than expected with a good amount of carbonation. Surprisingly enough the flavor starts out dry with grainy wheat and very underscored dry esters ~ the taste is very nice, but nothing like Dancing Man. The finish has some grassy esters and wheat. A very good example of the style.

Trade from theisti - Thanks! Cloudy brownish orange, very thin head. Very toasty, almost rye-ish aroma. Very little wheat character in the aroma, nor is there much in the flavor. Oddly sweet, crackerish flavor, and a bready, slightly sweet finish. Actually pretty tasty, if lacking much wheat flavor.

Hazed golden color with a taller off-white head. Aromas of pale wheat and caramel. Typical fizzy weiss feel. Light wheat, flour and white bread flavors. Hints of spice. No depth in this one. 1/11

This bottle was courtesy of Strykzone. From the 12 oz bottle this poured a very rich slightly hazy gold, with a robust white head and good lacing rings. The nose is powerful for a hefe with lots of cloves and banana.. Medium body and an exceptionally smooth mouthfeel. The flavor is as intense at the aroma, with lots cloves and banana. The finish is the same easy drinking perfectly spiced winner the nose and flavor brought. An exceptionally fine hefe. This folk at Tin Mill know how to make German style beers as all have been good. This may be the best.

Tap at the brewpub as First Street Wheat. The body was a little dark for the style. The color was dark amber to near copper. There was a clove and banana scent to this one. Bananas and clove in the taste. There was also some spice in the finish. Good for the style.

Pretty terrible hefe weizen. Nice to look at, pleasant citrusy aroma, but the flavor is unbelievably tart with a stale aftertaste. Tried with Jess, Jennie and Jason at the Hermann Oktoberfest.
