Bottle from Central City Liquor Store, Surreymcberko (17830) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - JUN 12, 2016
Hazy golden color, small head. Aroma of malt, caramel and some vegetables. Caramel flavor, mild, with a hint of cabbage and vegetables again, luckily quite low; correct bitterness.
Not bad, but with minor flaws.
On tap at Tin Whistle, pours a hazy golden orange with a small off-white head. Aroma brings out bready malt and floral English hops. Flavour is along the same lines, with bitter floral English hops and biscuity malt. Very floral on the finish. Not overly refined. Meh. Light bronze with a slight haze. Bready, crackerlike aroma. The flavour is quite toasty malt character with woody, cheesy (ossau-iraty) notes. Not really an ESB due to lack of hops but a pretty tasty beer, like an English strong with a minerally finish. (Also, should be noted this is quite a bit different from the last time we saw this one in bottles, back in the late ’90s) Ferris (15272) - Burnaby, British Columbia, CANADA - AUG 16, 2016
Bottle - Carame and nice hops. Clear gold with a rich white head. Nice spice and Perfumy hops. Solid. Lubiere (13905) - Ottawa, Ontario, CANADA - DEC 28, 2005
Another spoilt beauty. Hazy golden ale with a thick white head. Sour diacetyl aroma. In mouth, the light lactic acid with the butterscotch makes this unpleasant, lemony. Light hops notes.

Slightly hazy orange amber, biscuity sweet aroma, slightly fruity. Mostly malty palate, with a medium bitter finish. I liked it and thought it was a decent attempt at the style. JoeMcPhee (9426) - Toronto, ON, Ontario, CANADA - JAN 15, 2006
650 ml bomber. Nice amber colour under a thick tight white head. Aroma is quite fruity and malty. Dark plum and black cherry fruits mix with sweet toasted malts and a whiff of alcohol. Flavour shows a bit of toffee, brown sugar, and maybe a touch of diacetyl in the mouth. Not really all that hoppy or bitter, but still drinkable. reebtogi (6267) - Edmonton, Alberta, CANADA - APR 16, 2012
650ml bottle pours a golden orange color with a finger of white head that has decent retention and leaves some thin spotty lacing. Aroma is cereal grains with some floral and citrus notes. Taste is light malty sweet with a bold citrus hop bitterness in the finish. Light to medium body and pleasing carbonation for a nice tingle on the palate. Very well done English style bitter. (650ml bottle) Purchased at Liquor Plus (Douglas). I’m proud to say that I got Liquor Plus to bring this ESB in to Victoria. I tried it a few years back at the brewery and was very impressed, it could be one of the best bitters (when fresh) in the province. Pours a large, frothy white head atop a amber body. Good carbonation. Nose is biting with bitter hops and the flavour is well balanced between the hops and malt with bitterness through the finish. A real gem that should be sought after. presario (4916) - Stampede City, Alberta, CANADA - OCT 12, 2005
650ml bottle. Amber to copper colour. Long lasting carved head. Not much for an aroma, light malt. Strong malt body with hops that build through the glass, getting stronger with each drink. Enjoyable.
