Rochdale Beer Festival 2016. Dark amber and bitter in character, but with a low bitterness allowing a sweetness through. SilkTork (5946) - Southampton, United Kingdom, Hampshire, ENGLAND - NOV 5, 2016
Cobweb Inn, Boscastle. July 2016. Brown sugar sweetness and a general musty roughness. I have not had good experience of Tintagel beers on my visit to Cornwall - either there’s a temporary infection in the brewery, or I have been unlucky in the pubs I’ve drunk in. Very grainy aroma, lots of barley, some pulses. Copper, small loose head. Pleasant coffee-like aspects to the roast. Full palate. A bit sweet, but only what you’d expect for a 4.8% special bitter. Finish is close to spent coffee grounds. Very serviceable bitter.
