Our friends up at Fierce are some of the best in the business when it comes to adding other flavours to beer. We think we’re pretty good at that ourselves, so we asked them to collaborate on a beer with LOTS going on.

Inspired by Derek Zoolander’s coffee of choice, Orange Mocha Frapp Stout does exactly what it says on the tin. Orange, Chocolate and Coffee. It’s awesome

UPDATED: APR 21, 2018 Bottle from BeerCraft of Bath. Pours jet black with chocolate tan head. Aroma is coffee, bitter chocolate and tang. Taste is coffee stout, with disconcerting washing up liquid aftertaste, don’t get the orange at all. Bit of a let down tbh...

Keg at Brewdog Soho. An opaque black coloured pour with a a lasting dark tan head aroma is horrible soapy fairy liquid, burnt toast, orange, woody. Flavour is composed of chocolate, orange, woody, oily chocolate,. Palate is oily, medium bodied, spicy citrus, lowish carbonation . Ok aroma put me off.

Bottle from Coppers, Newcastle. Thick, inky black with no head. It has a strange chemical, tangerine and washing-up liquid orange flavour followed by chocolate and more 'fake' orange on the rich, smooth finish. Not Good.

Saturday, March 31, 2018. On tap, 12.5cL. 7%. @Poitou Bière Festival (7/9). A sparkling black beer with a light to medium beige foamy head ; medium retention. Coffee+, roasted malt, light citrus, cereal note. Medium dry refreshing bitter, light sweet. Full body, aveage oily texture, soft gaseous, coffee lasting refreshing lasting finish. Overall, very good ! I loved the idea to combine coffee and orange.

2Apr2018 Intense dark chocolate, cacao, burnt, dark, toasted bread, charcoal, earthy, dark roast coffee. Hazy, very dark brown, small, creamy, beige head. Light bitter. More dark chocolate, bitter cacao, creamy, dark chocolate milkshake, some citrus fruits, more dark roast coffee, soft carbonation, medium bodied. Nice, but orange isn't very pronounced. Keg at BrewDog, Soho.
