A collaboration brew with Glyn Roberts (The Rake Bar), Hadouken is our Amplified IPA. A dedication to the classic finishing move from one of our favourite video games from back in the 90’s. Massively hopped with a combo of 3 American varieties.

Bottle from Corks of Cotham, Bristol. Lovely deep copper in colour with a decent, off-white head. Peach, tangerine and sherbet aroma with some grassy hops. Big, caramel and unripe tropical fruit flavours, with some solid, savoury malts, black pepper and a lingering, dry finish. Unusual.

Optisch leicht trüb, ordentlicher Schaum. In der Nase alkoholisch, vergorene Ananas. Im Trunk crispy, überraschenderweise kein Alkohol, mittig brotig, nur leicht fruchtig. Gutes Ding.

This 7.4% IPA gets it just right, if you like a bit milder taste to the hops than for example Hoppin’ Frog IPA, but with very nice fruity character. Best Hadouken beer overall.

Davros IX (334) - Hertford, Hertfordshire, ENGLAND - MAY 3, 2017
2016 catch up - A real smack in the mouth from the flavours and the bitterness in particular. A very "British" hop flavour, but without the smoothness that I have found elsewhere in double IPAs from the UK.

Brew_Cat (134) - Athens, GREECE - APR 20, 2017
Bottle @ Ο Μπαμπάς (Koukaki, Athens). Pours beautiful hazy yellow with small foamy white head, medium mouthfeel, slightly oily finish, decent lacing. Rich aromas, bread, maybe caramel, earthly hops with some spicy citrus taking over as time passes by. Distinctive presence of American hops, yet the strong malty backbone adds sweetness. As I’m used to more bitterness in an IPA, it’s not exactly my cup of tea. Still, it’s an excellent ale.

Cuso (8616) - Bratislava, SLOVAK REPUBLIC - APR 15, 2017
Bottle, tasting at beer[malade]. Deep orange color with medium white head. Aroma of malt, oranges, pines, zest. Taste starts malty followed by citrus hoppy bitterness with oranges, zest, pines. Medium long hoppy bitter finish.

jjsint (3007) - Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, ENGLAND - APR 9, 2017
Bottle from Cambridge Wine Merchants, Bridge Street. Light yellow with a tight white head, hazy. Scent of grapefruit, pineapple, resinous hops. Tastes surprisingly bitter, but the bitterness fades after a few sips and the beer has more of a balanced feel. Strong piney aftertaste with some banana and lemon peel. Really enjoyable.

330 ml bottle, from the Norwegian importer. ABV is 7.4%. Slightly hazy golden colour, low white head. Moderate aroma of American hops, some dryish "dusty" notes in the background. The flavour is fairly sweet, with plenty of fruity and piney American hops. Bitter finish. Not perfectly balanced.
