Comments: A bold and impressive ale with strong coffee tones and above average yeastiness.
Cask at GBBF 2007, CBoB firkin. A hazy dark brown beer. The flavor is sweet malty with strong notes of caramel and lighter notes of chocolate. The flavor is sweet malty with notes of caramel and chocolate - like ice cream topping.

(Bottle 50 cl) Courtesy of fonefan. Clear reddish brown almost with no head. Aroma of hard roasted malt. Medium body with an almost absent carbonation, hard roasted malts and sweet dried fruit. A dark cola brown coloured beer with a weak off white head. A well rounded aroma of roasted malts, plenty of chocolate and nutty caramel aromas. Dry mouthfeel. A rich malt flavour of chocolate, caramel, quite sweet in taste. All of which lasts into a lingering finish.
Tasted at the 3rd. Fakenham Beer Festival.

Pours clear broen with virtually no head. Aroma is sweet, light chocolate and coffee with some toffee notes. Flat and a little bit thin. Flavour is dry, lots of roasted notes giving way to sweet chocolate and coffee in fine balance.

The mouthfeel is flat and the flavour has notes of roasted malt, coffee, chocolate, a light sweetness and hints of fruit. It’s hard to believe, that this isn’t a porter.
