Growler shared by Bruce from the brewery. Aroma is heavy roast with subtle dark chocolate and coffee undertones. Pours black with a good brewpub swirly head. Taste is super dark roast coffee but in a very dry charcoal way. Slight creamy chocolate finish. If theres such a thing as a dry mochachino, this is what it would taste like. Nice. jredmond (8441) - New York, New York, USA - OCT 29, 2013
Draft at Tired Hands with Linh, Angela and Minh. Pours a deep murky brown body with thin off white, brown lacing. Aroma is earthy roast, espresso and bitter chocolate. Mouthfeel is thin with similar notes. Solid porter with nice earthy, coffee character balanced by a bitter chocolate flavor. MrChopin (4304) - Baltimore, Maryland, USA - OCT 27, 2013
near black sepia, thin beige head drops to an island and ring. Spicy nose is rye, black pepper, chocolate, bubblegum estery sweetness. Flavor more roast dominant, thin metallic bubblegum esters sting the mouth mid before a thin, barky finish smacks with robust roasted malt. auerbrau (3203) - Ithaca, New York, USA - OCT 20, 2013
On tap at the brewpub. Curt roasted malt aroma. Flavors open up with a terse dark chocolate nib bite, very distinct and unique. Maybe a bit much on the darker malts as it heads into molasses tar territory which I find a tiny bit acrid. Overall, though, it’s clean, dry, nicely dark and fresh. callmemickey (4549) - Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA - OCT 18, 2013
Deep black-brown bodym, medium sized tan head, spotty lacing. Roasted malt, caramel, chocolate, coffee, raisin, earthy hops. Medium to full bodied, gentle carbonation, earthy/roasted finish, light bitterness. Fairly complex and pleasant.

On tap at the source, pours black with small head, light lace. Notes are very smooth and creamy for a porter. Grapes, hops, roasted malt, espresso, chocolate covered raisin, and caramel are the main flavors an scents. Medium to full body. Really crushable for 8%. reggiedunlop (3725) - The dub c, Pennsylvania, USA - OCT 16, 2013
Pours pitch black with a medium thick tan head...thin lacing all the way down. Aroma has notes of anise, dark fruits, coffee, and very subtle smokiness. Flavor has a nice dark chocolate note with hints of espresso, faint anise, and burnt bitterness. Mouthfeel is medium and a bit creamy with a roasty burnt/bitter dry finish that lingers with bold dark chocolate. ABV is hidden nicely. Great desserty porter. digrod (138) - Pennsylvania, USA - OCT 15, 2013
