Draft. Dark pour with tan head. Roasted coffee and sweet honey aromas. Flavors follow, honey cuts into the bitterness of the coffee on the finish. orangesol (987) - Pennsylvania, USA - AUG 31, 2014

A - Pours jet black with a small creamy half finger tall tan head, slowly dissipating down to a light film, leaving spotty streaks of lace on the sides of the glass.
S - Smells of rich dark roasted coffee, chocolate, dash of vanilla, honey, toffee and plenty of dark roasted malt.
T - Starts off with a strong espresso coffee kick slowly being joined by the honey, chocolate, toffee, caramel, vanilla and the ever present dark roasted malt. Finish is pretty roasty, lingering long after the finish.
M - Medium-Heavy body with moderate carbonation. Slick, roasty feel from start to finish.
O - I think this batch has more coffee than the first time, which is a good thing in my book. Glad they brought this one back, one of their better dark beers.
Growler shared at the Night of Garbage, please add the ’not so’ bracket for this number that I provided via an IP trade with Frank from PA, 20/12/13 up a shit load of stairs !
Light black with a good sized tan head that retains well.
Nose is roast coffee beans, roast malt, cocoa, toffee fudge.
Taste comprises less of a coffee assault, cocoa powder, coffee beans, light roast, dark malts.
Medium bodied, fine carbonation, light sweet tones in a drying finale.
Super solid porter - lots of coffee going off, doesn’t strike you as 8% + !

Growler shared by b3shine. Poured a clear dark brown color with a moderate frothy tan head that mostly lasted with very good lacing. Moderate to heavy toasted chocolate malt and coffee aroma. Medium to full body with a smooth texture and flat carbonation. Medium to heavy sweet flavor with a medium sweet smooth finish of moderate to long duration. Solid brew. near black, puffy tan small bubbled head drops to a thin cap. Woody coffee nose, bordering on green. Flavor is heavy grinds, muted profile, soft with low carbonation leaves grinds all over the palate. Grains indistinguishable. One note and singular, too oppressive with soft body. Growler, thanks to Colin. It pours near black with a medium+ tan head. The nose is smooth roast, coffee, toast, cocoa/dark chocolate, earth and a touch of sherbet. The taste is smooth, roasty, toast, coffee, caramel, sherbet, chocolate and some creaminess with a dry finish. Medium body, moderate carbonation and foamy mouth-feel. Well hidden alcohol. Smooth, well-balanced and very drinkable. Tasty. madmitch76 (24807) - , Essex, ENGLAND - DEC 20, 2013

The (not so) shit beer tasting at Leightons stratospheric flat. Thanks.Colin for the growler and the growling. Opaque dark brown beer, good pale cream coloured head. Palate is light, airy and semi dry. Smooth and fairly light dark malts. Very light roast. Light dry cream, light tang. Subtle dark chocolate and coffee. Finishes smooth.and airy with a sweeter fruity tang. Very easy going and drinkable. Drinks well below it’s abv.
Growler shared at the Night of Garbage. Big thanks to C-Dog for bringing this one. Pours deep brown with a frothy tan head. Loads of coffee in the nose, some dark chocolate. Medium sweet flavor with fresh coffee beans, well roasted malts, baking cocoa, earth. Medium bodied with fine carbonation and creamy texture. More fresh coffee in the finish, burnt wood, dried dark fruits, bittersweet chocolate. Rich, dynamic and very well balanced.
