In short: A wicked wild & rustic Saison with tangerines and stuff… Refreshing and complex.egajdzis (6613) - Pennsburg, Pennsylvania, USA - AUG 9, 2012
How: Tap at Hill Farmstead Farmhouse Saison Festival 2012.
The look: Cloudy yellow body topped by a medium white head.
In long: Nose is really super-rustic, truly farmhouse, musky, a bit of wood and nice fresh clementines. Body is full and fluffy with a lively smooth carbonation making for a very comfortable pillowy mouthfeel. Taste is has crisp crackery cereals, wheat sensation (not sure if any wheat is actually used), a nice wheat-like refreshing acidity, plenty of fresh clementines that are so well integrated with the beer that is almost feels like citrusy hops, some wood, nice wild yeast sensation adding a strong farmhouse character. Barrel aging is really not overdone (at least in this batch) and only add mild vinous tannic notes that gets lost in the wild yeast and fruit flavors. Finish is mildly bitter and rather dry. Refreshing and complex, a fantastic treat for the lovers of bastardised farmhouse Saisons. The kind of high-quality crazy wild Saison I would have expected from a Hill Farmstead, which ironically is where I had the Mysterious Mood. My wife loved that beer immensely too, like me she is a Saison Whore, although she prefers to be called a Saison Escort.
Murky orange golden color with a medium sized, off white head that left nice lacing on the glass. Aroma of orange, citrus, honey, vanilla, light brett and light toast. Taste of orange, toasty, citrus, and a dry finish. Reynolds314 (3459) - Connecticut, USA - AUG 15, 2012
Growler courtesy of boogychillin. Outstanding beer. Really great subtle aroma of oranges, spicy french oak, light cloves, and a nice wheat lemon bite. Taste is dry with slight sweetness and a clean finish. This beer is fantastically subtle and very well made. I look forward to more from Tired Hands. Tap at Tired Hands. Pours a fully opaque, very murky peach. Thick, dense white foam. Nose is funky, white grapes, fresh white peach. Russian River Temptation style funk. Taste is insane- very delicious wheat richness, zesty citrus, lactic acid, citrus juiciness. Finishes with a rich, bitter, hoppy, grassy finish. Hill Farmstead/Russian River level palate. Amazing.

Pouring at the Hill Farmstead Saison Fest. Pours a hazed golden amber with a medium to large white head, creamy. Soft wheat, musk, gentle citrus, the clementine really comes through here, loads of zest and peels, even the faintest hint of cedar. Beautiful. Smooth, medium bodied, sweet wheat, dry musk, a touch of brett, faint oak Sweet, lightly tangy, gentle wood. Touches of brett. Super drinkable, absolutely delicious. The star of the fest. Amazing stuff Jean. Ernesto987 (6050) - Arizona, USA - AUG 14, 2012
