4.5 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
On tap at Tired Hands. Served glasses into stemware. Pours a slightly-hazy blonde-straw color with a fluffy white head and really nice retention. Good lacing and a cap throughout. The nose carries the unmistakable whiff of Simcoe hops with some nice pine alongside backing citrus. Light yeasty pepper and faint herbal character in the background. Flavor is similar, with the Simcoe out in front and the saison doing background work with a really excellent body. Dry and crisp. Excellent.
peaches, mangoes and grasses fly into my mouth and nostrils when it goes in. flowers, little pepperies, good mouthfeelings! Glouglouburp (6103) - Montreal, Quebec, CANADA - NOV 26, 2012
In short: A crisp, rustic, sharp, fruity, hoppy pale Saison. Very good.Nate (4296) - Indiana, Pennsylvania, USA - OCT 20, 2012
How: Tap at Hill Farmstead Farmhouse Saison Festival 2012
The look: Cloudy yellow body topped by a small white head
In long: The inviting nose shows a nice rustic character, fruity aromas of tropical fruits and passion fruit, and light piney notes. Taste has a crisp malt backbone that feels somewhat wheaty and crackery, bananas, tropical fruits, lemongrass, sandy pine-tree in the finish. The sharp bitterness and some pine-tree notes clashed a bit with the rest of the beer, I don’t think Simcoe is the right hop for that beer, but the base Saison seems to be so awesome that the beer is probably excellent with any single hopping, it’s just that I would probably prefer it without a classic bitter American IPA type of hopping. But thankfully it is the Saison and not the hopping that dominates this beer. Enjoyed this beer and many others during a beautiful sunny after-noon, and if there’s something that makes me very very thirsty for beer, it is being awake.
On tap at Tired Hands. Fantastic aroma on this. Fresh, juicy, floral. Pale cloudy straw with thin white head. Medium body with medium-high carbonation. Starts spicy and floral with dry pilsner malt, bit hops profile and tons of hop flavor. Mild bitter finish with balanced acidity and bitterness. Great single-hopped saison. Growler shared by Mr. PA himself, Dr. Moll.
The beer is hazy and straw yellow with an inch of white head. The aroma offers dank hops, floral notes, tart citrus. Lemons and hops at the forefront, with nice grass and floral flavors. Pretty light bodied with moderate carbonation. A very tasty brew. I would definitely have this again.

On tap at TH. pours a light haze with moderate white head. Spiffy zesty aroma. Almost looks like a hazy Sprite. Mouthfeel is light and crisp but not watered down at all. Taste is like sucking on a citrus rind. Wow! Now I get what these single hop beers are supposed to do! Only downside to this beer is that not much of the saison yeast came through. It's a fantastic APA though!

Tap at Tired Hands. Glowing straw pour with full haze. Rocky white foam. Nose is jackfruit, pineapple, lemongrass, honeydew, white grapefruit. Some peppercorn and rose/hibiscus. Taste is massively quenching, pineapple juice, grassy hops, sourdough, sharp green hops, pithy melon. Palate is very dry, doughy, crackery, snappy. Clean, lower abv. One of the best from Tired Hands so far. The highlight of the day. Got a growler of it and drank the rest at home with friends. Hot damn.

Growler... Hazy straw-colored ale with a small, fizzy, white head. The bouquet is a blend of musky, earthy lupulin and a lesser note of cat piss. Light to medium-bodied with fizzy carbonation. The flavor is comprised of moderately bitter, earthy Simcoe hops intertwined with middle-of-the-road acidity and a mildly acrid component. Finishes lightly bitter, faintly acidic and a touch dry.
