Draft. Clear golden yellow color, almost flat. Aroma of dusty lemons. Taste is softly sour earthy lemons. Sammy (12610) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - DEC 9, 2012
Enjoyed on tap at the brewpub. Not a true kvas, but a good drinking beer, and appreciate the low abv. a yellow body, and a big bubbly head. Lots of lace. Bready, some sourness which adds to the taste, and Cascade is definitely there to impart the Orange taste. Little sweetness, yet not overall bitter. Chico ale yeast. Draft at TND. Pours clearish gold with very light head and lacing. Notes are mostly sour, with a good bit of the sour dough crustiness you see in berliners. Other notes of herbs, dough, tart lemon and very light cascade if any. Kind of watery in mouth with light to medium carbonation. I wish this one was more rye’d out like a traditional kvas but the berliner aspect was interesting. Ernesto987 (6050) - Arizona, USA - NOV 17, 2012
UPDATED: DEC 17, 2012 On tap at the brewery, tastes a bit like apple cider and saison. I like it it is very nuance Thorpe429 (5035) - , Illinois, USA - JAN 31, 2013
On tap at Station in Downington, PA. Glad they had this one on tap, as I had missed it at Tired Hands. Served in a pint glass.
Pours a crystal-clear light straw color with a fluffy, fizzy white head that lasts for just a bit before falling, leaving behind a bit of lacing.
The nose carries faint bread and grain along with a faint tartness and just a bit of lemon. The flavor is very soft and crisp. Very light bread character along with a touch of lactic acid. Very light body with high carbonation. Super, super drinkable. Not too much character, but I don’t really expect all that much from a kvass.
Overall, a nice take on the style that steers away from too much breadiness or a heavy-handed character on the spicing.

UPDATED: MAR 1, 2013 Hazy wheat-yellow body, moderate white head, spotty lacing. Nose is lightly fruity, with some lemon, clementines and a light crackery malt. Flavor is more interesting as the juicy lemons and clementines complement a gentle but pervasive lactic sourness. Light bodied, gentle carbonation, light sweetness, incredibly refreshing. An interesting take on a kvass that basically results in a non-wheat Berliner weiss flavor. Biggest problem is its November and 40 degrees out-this is a summer beer. reggiedunlop (3726) - The dub c, Pennsylvania, USA - NOV 15, 2012
Pours clear gold with a medium creamy white head...nice retention. Aroma has notable breadiness and lemony tea notes. Flavor is very bready/grainy with excellent tart/sour notes...lemony. mouthfeel is light/medium with a bready/soury dry finish. Atom (2558) - Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA - NOV 21, 2012
Growler, big thanks to FooFaa, pours a clear pale golden with a small white head. Aroma of sour dough bread, lemon, grain, and apples skins. Taste of lemon and tart citrus, backed by doughy bread and yogurt on the finish. Very clean and dry, easy drinking with an approachable level of sourness. I could drink this all day long, even more so on a hot day. JFGrind (2064) - Glenside, Pennsylvania, USA - NOV 17, 2012
Unique, light alcohol, wheat, lemon zest, quenching beer. My last sample @ Keystone Homebrew’s anniversary party had the right amount of flavor and alcohol content for hitting the road. tcane7 (1674) - Pennsylvania, USA - DEC 5, 2012
Draft at Tired Hands. Pours a light hazy gold. Nose of lactic acid, lemon, citrus, funk. Taste is tart lemon, citrus, bready funk. The comparison to Berliner is obvious but it is definitely unique. Really interesting, great session beer.
