3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 18/20
On tap at Capones. My first from these folks but certainly not my last. Cloudy yellow brown with white froth. Nose is honey, wheat, marjoram and lemon zest. Clean and simple; lovely. Medium light with an airy tingle; more nectar than spritz. Flavor plays a delicate floral sweetness off earthy grain, lemon, coriander and bitter herbs. Black pepper adds some heat in the finish. Almost perfect light saison with a nod to a witbier.
Old rating, tried in July at Matt’s. Poured a hazy golden orange color with a soapy white head. Aromas/flavor of lemon, pepper, chamomile, tropical and fruity hibiscus, and some other nice florals. Got a little too spiced out at the end, but Im not a big saison fan so might just be personal preference. Body was on the light side being 3.5%. Finshed a little refreshing but spiced out. Decent. Draft at Capone’s. Pours hazy dark straw with white clingy head. Nose is hopcitric, lemon zest, mild funk and spice. Tastes of funky earthy malt, lemon, and spicy florals. Very smooth on the palate with a nice complexity. Chalsk (1104) - North Caldwell, New Jersey, USA - JUL 24, 2012
On tap at Capones. Pours a pale orange yellow with a white foam head. Aroma of lemongrass and zest with some orange peel mixed in. Light zesty taste with some caramel and earthiness underneath. hopdog (12549) - Lansdale, Pennsylvania, USA - JUL 14, 2012
On tap at Capone’s. Poured a hazy yellow color with an averaged sized white head. Floral, spices, and some citrus. A tad bit on the spicy side, but for a 3.5% beer, one I could drink a bunch of.

Pours a light hazy yellow with a paperthin head. Floral aroma with some funk. Taste follows, some spice introduced. Light and smooth, really nice. Thorpe429 (5035) - , Illinois, USA - JUN 14, 2012
On tap at Tired Hands. Version spiced with lemon verbena and green peppercorns. Pours a pale yellow-straw color with a nice, foamy white head and good, sticky lacing. The nose brings forward really nice floral elements along with wheat and a touch of pepper. Flavor brings through a nice lemon character along with a touch of peppery spice. The wheat body is killer and the bitterness is just right. Light and super-refreshing. This is exceedingly drinkable and excellently made. I can’t wait to try the next one in the series. callmemickey (4543) - Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA - JUN 13, 2012
UPDATED: JUN 27, 2012 (Tabel Verbena: lemon verbena and green peppercorns ). Lightly hazy wheat-yellow body, fluffy white head and streaky lacing. Nose is a burst of citrus and spice: lemon, orange, pepper, grass, and hay. Flavor is spot on with a nice balance of citrus, spice and grains. Medium to light bodied, effervescent, dry finish, refreshing. Perhaps a hair to thin with the lower ABV. I’d prefer it to be be bulked up a bit. Otherwise this is a solid release, looking forward to the rotating spicing. (8-4-8-4-15)

(Tabel Suckle: honeysuckle, cardamom leaves, and citrus leaves) Cloudy, milky straw yellow body, large fluffy white head and plenty of lacing. Smell is loaded with floral and lemon notes and hints of soft, leafy spices. Taste is similar, but a bit more mellow with less citric notes hamemring away. Medium to light bodied, refreshing, semi-dry finish. Less complex than Tabel Verbena, but probably a better all-around beer. (8-4-8-4-16).
Hazy golden color with a medium sized, white head that left nice lacing on the glass. Aroma of honey, coriander, chamomile, orange, toast, and citrus. Taste of citrus, orange, spices, straw, and a dry finish. The spices seemed to come through a bit strong. RoyalFlushing (326) - Mamaroneck, New York, USA - JUN 10, 2012
On tap @ Tired Hands. Poured a cloudy lemonade yellow with a medium sized fluffy white head. Wonderful aroma of floral, Hoji-Cha tea, citrus peel, pepper, grass, and subtle barn funk. Flavor is very well-balanced blend of spice, citrus, grass, banana with an ultra smooth finish. Absolutely love the concept of a table saison and this definitely delivers.
