Pours a murky orange amber, small head, med lacing. Aromas of blackberry, oak, cinnamon, and other fruits. Taste is cinnamon, wild yeast, vanilla, earthy berries, chocolate, oatmeal, and other spices. Balanced perfectly, refreshing. Really enjoyed this biere de garde. egajdzis (6502) - Pennsburg, Pennsylvania, USA - JUL 19, 2012
Hazy orange brown color with a medium sized, off white head that left nice lacing on the glass. Aroma of vanilla, wood, red wine, spices, caramel. And some nuts. Taste of caramel, nuts, vanilla, wine wood, spices, and a dry, slightly funky finish. Thorpe429 (5035) - , Illinois, USA - JUL 24, 2012
Big thanks to yourefragile for sharing this growler. Served in Tired Hands stemware. Nice strawberry in the nose. Wine comes through in the flavor with some earth. Strawberry on the back end. callmemickey (4542) - Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA - JUN 29, 2012
UPDATED: MAR 1, 2013 Deep amber body. Thin off-white head. Minimal lacing. Smell is full of funky-brett notes. Horse stall, wet hay, faint strawberries, spicy yeast, oak, and red wine tannins. Unfortunately, the flavor is sharp falloff from the spectacularly complex nose. Strawberries and funk are much more restrained and benign. I can only imagine if this spent more time in the barrels and/or had a lower percentage aged in stainless steel. Would love to see this done again with some tweaking. Mouthfeel is mellow, even carbonation, medium bodied, semi-dry finish, lightly funky aftertaste. A good beer that, perhaps, could have been great.

Pours a hazy pale amber with a thin tan head. Aroma had nice mild bretty funk and mild wine...tart...very faint strawberry...took me a while to figure out what i was smelling. Flavor has some musty spice...grains of paradise...with some light fruitiness but not sweet...faint bretty funk. Mouthfeel is light/medium and the finish is dry with light peppery notes and mild funk. jcartamdg (3422) - Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA - JUN 29, 2012
Pale reddish brown with a paperthin head. Aroma of funk, red wine and oak. Taste follows with some sweetness and strawberry notes. Smooth and easy to drink. Pretty amazing! Damico (3147) - Royersford, Pennsylvania, USA - JUL 9, 2012
Pours hazy orange amber with a bright white head, quite beautiful for the style. The aroma brings wild saison yeast and light berry notes. The flavor brings light berry as well with grain and wheat notes, a bit lighter which is right on for the style. Pleasant flavors on a good body for a biere de garde as well. tcane7 (1674) - Pennsylvania, USA - JUL 13, 2012
On draft at Tired Hands. Pours a cloudy amber with thin head. Aroma is funky, wet wood, bathtub farts, with hints of dark fruit. Smooth taste with vanilla, stone fruit, funky yeast, slightly nutty. patrickfannon (1241) - Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA - JUL 12, 2012
On tap at Tired Hands. Pours hazy amber chestnut with a thin white head. Aroma of some crazy, farty funk and wet wood. Tastes like a sour brown ale up front, but fades into a beautiful, sweet strawberry and wet, soft wood and the end. Finishes nice and smooth, especially after the initial sourness. Great.
