COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Strong dark saison brewed with just enough caramel malts and boiled for almost five hours in our direct-fire kettle. Conditioned for five month in one of our dish-bottom fermenters. This beer is gorgeous.

Growler pour. Pours a slightly cloudy deep amber-brown with moderate sized tan head that quickly recedes. Nose is a boozy raisin, Belgian candy sugar, and some spice. Syrupy mouthfeel, sweet caramel, raisin, maple syrup, spicy yeast, a little funk, with a warm alcohol finish. Worth the wait.

On tap at Tired Hands. My 100th rated saison and its a big one. Cloudy brown with a beige skin. Nose is caramel, yeast and raisins; subtle. Medium body with a soft tingle. Taste is caramel, banana, clove, nutmeg, cinnamon stick and sherry. A bit like a holiday ale without the bitter spice residue. Easy drinking; hiding the alcohol unlike any brew i’ve tried. Deceptive and delicious.

On tap at the brewpub. Poured into flute. Pours a raisin brown. Maybe an inch of white head and Zero lacing. Aroma is sweet with brown sugar and Belgian yeast. Mouthfeel is oily slick and as thick as you'd expect. There's a nice amount of carbonation to balance it out though. Taste is very deep and sweet. Surprisingly there is no alcohol flavor but there is a nice warmth throughout. Tastes of raisins, yeast, maple syrup, vanilla and chestnut. Real treat. Alcohol hits you after a while. I really liked this beer. Lots of flavor and subtleties. Great to sip and share with friends when it's cold out. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

UPDATED: MAR 1, 2013 Hazy chestnut-brown body, moderate sized sand colored head, spotty lacing. Nose is rich with dark fruits (raisins, prunes, and figs), warm caramel, toffee, and some vanilla. Flavor is tremendous with all of the above, plus a delightful tannic-like character that gives this beer a remarkable structure that balances both the sweetness of the malt profile and the high abv. Given that this is brewed with saison/brett, bottles of this should be quite interesting with some age.

Pours a hazy caramel color with a medium creamy tan head. Aroma has raisin and sweet maltiness...very subtle yeasty spice. Flavor has notes of raisin, caramel, sweet vanilla, and dark fruits...just a touch of leathery bitterness. Mouthfeel is full and sticky/silky with a warm dark fruity/earthy/leathery finish. Amazing job masking the ABV.
