Draft...hazelnut brown color with decent head and nice lacing. Chewy, nutty body touches of sugars and roasted chocolate; unfortunately with a bit of a flat finish. Starts well but weakens form mid-palate to finish. Decent brown ale jcwattsrugger (12507) - Florida and, New Jersey, USA - JUN 15, 2007
on tap-pours a light tan head that laces and copper/brown color. Aroma is faint nutty, medium malt. Taste is faint nutty, medium malt-chocolate/caramel/faint coffee, secondary hops, nice. Mild carbonation. hopscotch (11170) - Vero Beach, Florida, USA - MAR 17, 2007
Draft... Clear copper ale with a small, creamy, white head. Nutty, caramel aroma with light butterscotch (diacetyl). The flavor is sweet caramel, light chocolate and just a hint of hop bitterness. More buttery diacetyl here, but I feel it’s appropriate for the style. Medium-bodied with a creamy mouthfeel and soft carbonation. Nutty, dry finish. Draft at the brewpub. The aroma is malty sweet with a very faint nuttiness and a lot of diacetyl. Very Shipyard/Ringwoody smelling, but where Shipyard beers can sometimes be inviting and ringwoody...this just aint. The body is dark amber/brown with a lasting tan head and very good lacing. The fore is very thin and is followed by buttered pecan....not butter becan....pecans shoved into butter. Peanut skin, faint sweet malt and a dry nutty finish wrap it up. Not a very good beer really. Draft sampler at Titanic. Poured brown color with an average creamy off-white head that lasted and produced good lacing. Good toasted malt aroma. Light body with a thin texture. Moderate toasted malt flavor with a soft finish.

Draught at the brewpub. 2005-08-28 visit. This beer seems flat to me. The texture seems lacking. Not like the browns I’m used to. It seems like a wattery Bock to me with a lightl bitter finish. A hint of malt that lingers on finish. Ok, it does have a bit of a nut flavor that a bock would lack... drinkable, but the texture is larger style to me. Almost no Aroma, but maybe the heavy AC at the bar here is preventing me from sensing it :) omhper (25349) - Tyresö, SWEDEN - AUG 22, 2005
Draught at the brewpub. Mid brown, creamy head. Dry, roasty and nutty, meium to light bodied, clean mouthfeel. Lightly bitter finish. Well balanced and flawless, but with primitive malt structure. tomciccateri (1034) - Albuquerque, New Mexico, USA - MAR 29, 2005
A very dark amber color with a rich malty flavor, medium body and dry chocolaty finish. Easy-drinking.
