Bottle from that garden centre neat Preston. Appearance - close to opaque black but with somered chinks. Nice fawn head. Nose - big cherry lozenge note. Taste - molasses and more cherry lozenge. Palate - close to medium bodied with a tangy yet sweet middle section that continues through the finish. Overall - Id imagine this could be tedious if you didnt like cherry lozenge but I do like cherry lozenge so that redeems it somewhat.

Yuk. That cherry flavor is awfully artificial. Could have known if i had read the ingredients (no cherries in there). Two sips, then it went down the drain.

Nocturne (1943) - Cheshire, ENGLAND - SEP 2, 2016
Cask at Castle Hotel, Manchester. Dark amber/brown shade. Lasting head. Aroma hits with lots of earth, cherries and a very nice vanilla dimension. Taste is a bit more artificial but still decent. Good stuff.

berkshirejohn (6330) - Bracknell, Berkshire, ENGLAND - AUG 12, 2016
Cask at the Goose, Bracknell. Copper with a tight cream head; sour cherry aroma; soft in the mouth with a cherry taste and malty body; then a touch of spice leading to a fruity cherry finish. Not too sweet overall, and rather good (if you like cherries).

Cask gravity at Kent & East Sussex Railway BF 2016. Dark brown red mahogany colour lasting beige head. Cherry chocolate aroma. Bit thin in the mouth. Some dark cherry flavour. Hmm. Not sweet but the fruit is a little artificial maybe not totally integrated. Not great.

Cask at Stockbridge Tap. Pours deep brown. Lovely creamy tan head. Big cherry and malts aroma. Pretty full on cherry flavours. Strangely I quite like this though. Works well with the malty backbone. Creamy and pudding like, though not that sweet. Certainly a novelty beer and a bit weird. That said, Im enjoying it.

Cask at the Cambridge Blue. Reddish brown, clear, really flat. Cherry aroma with a hint of chocolate malt. A little bit of plastic. Sweet taste with a surprisingly astringent artificial finish. Watery body. Meh.
