Cask: Special - JDW Autumn Festival 2011.
This new beer has been brewed exclusively for this Wetherspoon real-ale festival and celebrates the 100th anniversary of the Titanic’s fitting-out. This is a golden, balanced and sleek beer, with a gentle citrus aroma and a powerful bitterness from deep below the deck Hops: Cascade, Yakima, Galena

Cask Pint – JDW Fest Autumn 2011 in Oct 2011 - Amber Gold in colour. Very Fruity; citrus orange. Hoppy; earthy hops. Bitter earthy citrus fruity hoppy throughout. Dry in the finish. Very drinkable. (2011-10-13)

Fit-out has an understated taste but a great texture with a nice bitterness.

Hamilton Hall Spoons. Light haze on this gold beer. Nice creamy off white head. Light palate, smooth and a little dry. Pleasantly citrussy grapefruit and bitter orange peel. A little creamy malt in the background. Very pleasant hop fruits. Finishes semi dry. Well put together.

The Larry (JDW), Nuneaton. Clean gold, fluffy white lid. Heady orange peel and coriander aroma. Full and soft with an orange peel tang, light bitterness, vanilla and Playdoh notes. Finally nutty. Alright.

Cask conditioned Handpump Moon On The Square Northampton. A light orange coloured beer with an off-white wisp of head. Good citrussy hops in the mouth. A bit of sharp orange and lemon. Juicy lemons in the aroma. A reasonable length and quite tasty.

tombyars (1702) - Saltcoats, SCOTLAND - NOV 7, 2011
Tasted this in the Saltcot, Saltcoats (JDW) in November 2011. Cask, handpump dispense. Clear pale copper in colour with a thin white creamy head. Slight citric tang in the short aroma and thin mouthfeel. Good lacing throughout. Pale malt gives a weak base with slight caramel and pink grapefruit flavours short in intensity. Slight dusty hop prickle in the dry aftertaste. Well balanced bitter sweet finish. An ok session golden ale but nothing too demanding.

My confidence is restored in Titanic. Citrus nose, grapefruit, caramel. Powerful hoppy beer, very nice, quality half, one of the better of the festival.

Hand pulled cask at the Moon Under Water (JDW) Watford. Amber/gold with a thick white collar. Typical zesty citrus bitterness that you expect from Titanic but less balancing malt than I would have liked. Washed my curry down a treat though!

Had low expectations but this was pretty good - nicely bitter with a well rounded flavour, one of the better ones in the festival...

Thin watery. Strong foul citrus taste. Hops lemon. Thin yellow color with a soapy head. An ale becoming a lager. Grapefruit caramel and alcohol. The aftertate has anice sweetness with the bitterness. A good session beer but too hoppy.
