September 16, 2015 - at Southampton Arms - handpull cask. With lagerloather. Light clear gold, small white head. Dry, pungently grassy aroma, a little floral - Goldings? - its a bit acidic on the nose anyway. Taste has quite a bite - beyond grassy bitterness, not much malt sweetness or alcohol - quite pleasant actually. Light body, quite astringent - long, dry grassy/marigold pungent finish. I liked this one a lot more than most raters, it seems.

Bottle from Turbary Woods Garden centre. Appearance - golden amber with a nice fluffy head. Nose - initial butterscotch note that is worrying. Then cleaner notes of lemon pith and oatmeal. Taste - more lemon barley water. Palate - light bodied with a creamy texture and a long dry finish. Overall - definitely loaded in the correct style. Not an American Pale Ale as the bottle claims.

Unpleasant rubbery aroma after opening, after minute it settles down to more pleasant citrus, grass. Light sweetness with moderate to light bitterness, bit too watery finish
