UPDATED: NOV 13, 2017 much better than the standard plum porter as the plum isn't as sweet. much more full bodied. pint at bulls head Alton jmgreenuk (9985) - Kuala Lumpur, MALAYSIA - NOV 6, 2017
Cask at the Wellington, Birmingham. Poured a clear chestnut brown with a frothy off white head. The aroma is malt, heavy sweet plum. The flavour is moderate to strong sweet with a smooth, silky, dry, liquorice, alcohol, woody floral hop palate and a lingering bitter finish. Medium bodied with soft carbonation. Dark, ruby glints, tight head. Kinda sweet fruit-juicy aroma, plum nectar, some plasticky novelty purple grape-shaped erasers. Taste has the erasers and grape ramped up beyond what I'd like, but there's a decent roasted beer attempting to show itself too. Palate is a bit light, some smoothness, possibly from sweetness, carbonation decent. Finish has those blasted purple grapes, and some dry dusty bitterness. Hoped for more, but maybe these guys peak in cask. Super easy drinker, makes the shitbergets we just had seem like it was satan's poop.
Bottle thanks to a friend at work. Dark brown beer with small head. Aroma of dark malts and plums. Taste is plums, dark malts an black cherry. Medium bodied. Decent.

330ml bottle from Chez Sophie. Pours dark with ruby hints, no head at all. Plummy dark malt nose. Taste has a very light carbonation, lightly oily with that distinctive, smooth sweet plum porter character.. expected a bit more oomph but there's not a lot different to the original really Garrold (5606) - Sheffield, South Yorkshire, ENGLAND - SEP 24, 2017
Bottle. Mitchell's Wines, Sheffield. Deep ruby red. Slim ring of off white head. Nose is stewed plums. Prunes and custard. Not a ton else. Taste is sweet, in a stone fruit kind of way. Bit estery and such. Soft carbonation. Medium, oily mouthfeel. Sweet finish, with more stone fruit. Ok. deerweasel (2) - - SEP 11, 2017 does not count
