This beer is dark strong and well rounded; the richness of such a rotund beer is brought to an even keel by the late addition of Goldings hops and natural plum flavouring. Take the opportunity and go for the low hanging fruit, this sumptuous beer really is a plum!

Bottle - dark with very large frothy tan head. Different plum aroma - strong. Good mouthfeel. Fruity, plum tasting, quite sweet. Not my favourite porter.

UPDATED: MAR 25, 2017 Bottle. Deep brown with a medium tan head. Fruity aroma of plums, strawberries, toffee, biscuit, resin, toast, chocolate, hints of soapy notes. Medium well rounded taste, slightly on the bitter side, roasty smooth bitterness on finish. Light to medium body, medium carbonation, very drinkable. Excellent!

Bottle from Asda, Metrocentre. Very dark brow-red in colour with a thin white head. It has a rich red fruit, plum and currant flavour followed by a bitter-sweet tart fruity and oak finish. Good.

Plum is very apparent, much more so than I expected it to be. Lovely dark ruby colour Aroma Is of stone fruit too. Very minimal head - virtually none. Sweet, almost sugar-y fruit finish with minimal bitterness. Truth be told, it does what it says on the tin and its impressive, but its probably a bit too fruity for me.

On gravity cask at Yard of Ale in Broadstairs. Pours a very dark reddish brown with a tan head. The smell is dark fruit, brown sugar, roasted malt. The taste is dark fruit, definite plum in there, roasted malt, brown sugar ending a little crisp. Light/medium with mild carbonation. Nice stuff.

Bottle. Pours dark brown with nice sticky beige head. Aroma: full of canned plums, sweet, milk chocolate, wheaty notes- nostalgic aroma for me. Taste: sweet, plums, juicy, some balancing sourness, bitterness and dryness of plum sone. Up to medium body. Interesting and good if you like plums. Dry-bitterish finish. Nice.

Hoppy; Goldings hops. Sweet plum fruity malty throughout leading to a dry finish. Definitely unusual. Interesting. Drinkable. (2012-11-25)
