COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Cask & bottled; Regular.

This beer is dark strong and well rounded; the richness of such a rotund beer is brought to an even keel by the late addition of Goldings hops and natural plum flavouring. Take the opportunity and go for the low hanging fruit, this sumptuous beer really is a plum!

Oiolosse (155) - Granada, SPAIN - DEC 30, 2017
Color rubí oscuro, casi sin cabeza, fruta del bosque, un toque de chicle dulce, suave, corto y amargo al final. Definitivamente algo diferente. En general, buena experiencia.

On draught, beautiful creamy head stayed all the way with slight burnt coal tastes, malty & plenty of stone fruit tastes. Delish!

Great Porter with subtle plum flavours. Very quaffable - one of my favourite beers.

3.8
Benters (144) - Leicestershire, ENGLAND - DEC 4, 2017
Pours a clear, mahogany colour with thin head and average carbonation. Aroma is really fruity, reminds me of stewed plums that I enjoyed years ago. Taste follows the nose with plums front and centre giving a really nice fruity sweetness, alongside bready and caramel flavours from the malt which are nicely balanced by a subtle hop bitterness. Really enjoyable porter.

Salian (169) - Sale, Cheshire, ENGLAND - DEC 1, 2017
Deep purple coloured, a smooth, rich and well balanced sweet ale with a lovely roast finish.

3.8
deyholla (12590) - Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA - NOV 20, 2017
Cask at Ship and Mitre. Pours a dark reddish brown with a light brown head that lasts throughout the beer and laces. Aroma has a good amount of plum with dark grains and a hint of roast underlying. Flavor has a good amount of plum with just a bit of dark grains backing.

3.8
macca147 (762) - Sydney, AUSTRALIA - NOV 11, 2017
On tap at Magdalen Arms, Oxford. Pours a thin black with a reddish tinge and a white head. Aroma: roasted malt, plums, bitter cocoa, forest fruits, treacle notes. Taste: roasted malt, plums, forest fruits, mild citrus and treacle flavours. Medium bodied. Mild sweetness, followed by mild lingering bitterness on the back end of the palate. Well balanced. This is quite tasty. Not a sessionable porter, too full flavoured, but would make a great dessert beer or stand alone drink.

3.6

3.9

Cask at the Railway Tavern, Chelmsford. Pours mahogany brown with a small off-white head. Very good.

Dark ruby color,, almost no head, forest fruit, a touch of sweet bubble gum, plummy, short amd bitter on the end. Definitely something different. In overall nice experience.
