Smoky and dry. Probably my favourite bottle-conditioned stout from the UK. A bitter, sour (but pleasant) taste. Widely available from supermarkets and off-licences in the UK..

Pours a finger of head on a black body. Aroma is licorice, coffee and dark chocolate. Taste is deep and dark bitter coffee. Really nice. Texture is thicker.

Pours dark brown with big, long lasting tan head. Aroma of roasted malt and coffee. Light body with soft carbonation with dry finish. Bit too light for my taste. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Almost black colour, medium sized creamy beige head; aroma of coffee, chocolate, coffe cream and slight toffee notes; taste is the same with less intensity; great stout - w9uld be a perfect one with a bit more body

Cask Half Pint at Cask Pub & Kitchen, Pimlico, London in July 2011 - Pitch Black in colour. Very Malty; roast malts, lots of liquorice, espresso coffee, chocolate, caramel. Hoppy; earthy bitter hops. Well balanced stout. Roast malty throughout, dry and increasingly bitter into the finish. Very drinkable. Nice Stout! (2011-07-30)

On cask at the Stockbridge Tap. Appearance - opaque black with a lovely fawn head. Nose - roast and dark chocolate. Taste - more of the same. A BT of biscuit spice in there too. Palate - close to medium bodied with a creamy yet crunchy texture and a long dry crunchy finish. Overall - I’d say this was into dry stout territory.

500ml bottle shared in the corporate hospitality area @ GBBF 16, as one of the disappointingly few exclusive bottled beers there. Pours black, thin ring of -off-white head. Taste is rather thin, a touch dry with a valiant hint of roast on the finish. Next.
