4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
A bottle trade sample. Aroma features dark fruit, plums and figs, a hint of ash and some nice light fruity hops.
In the mouth the beer is complex with more dark fruit, dry roast grain, espresso, dark cocoa, and a roasty bitter finish. Proper challenging session stout.
Cloudy black beer, low carbonation, small head, at nose several roast notes such as chocolate and coffee there are also some fruity ones like plum, at palate is nedium body with a nice aftertaste full of burned flavours and a slight bitterness. Sergant (6) - - DEC 17, 2017 does not count

Pours a clear dark brown, almost black with thin tan head and average carbonation. Aromas of strong roasted malts and coffee. Taste is full-bodied, the beer is quite smooth in the centre but the strong roasted malt and coffee flavours come through very strongly leaving a lingering bitter finish. My personal preference for stouts is to see some more sweetness coming through for balance; this one leans too much towards roasted and bitter flavours and doesn't have much malt sweetness/chocolate flavours to balance. Pours a finger of head on a black body. Aroma is licorice, coffee and dark chocolate.
Taste is deep and dark bitter coffee. Really nice.
Texture is thicker. Soupordean (97) - New Jersey, USA - AUG 19, 2017
Pours dark brown with big, long lasting tan head. Aroma of roasted malt and coffee. Light body with soft carbonation with dry finish. Bit too light for my taste.

Almost black colour, medium sized creamy beige head; aroma of coffee, chocolate, coffe cream and slight toffee notes; taste is the same with less intensity; great stout - w9uld be a perfect one with a bit more body john44 (3456) - SW London, Greater London, ENGLAND - JAN 25, 2017
Cask Half Pint at Cask Pub & Kitchen, Pimlico, London in July 2011 - Pitch Black in colour. Very Malty; roast malts, lots of liquorice, espresso coffee, chocolate, caramel. Hoppy; earthy bitter hops. Well balanced stout. Roast malty throughout, dry and increasingly bitter into the finish. Very drinkable. Nice Stout! (2011-07-30)

On cask at the Stockbridge Tap.
Appearance - opaque black with a lovely fawn head.
Nose - roast and dark chocolate.
Taste - more of the same. A BT of biscuit spice in there too.
Palate - close to medium bodied with a creamy yet crunchy texture and a long dry crunchy finish.
Overall - I’d say this was into dry stout territory.
