Weird beer this (but it works). Peppery Belgian ale is the initial impression before a wave of sour funk comes crashing through. Aniseed, bitter, tang, almost Flemish save for the pepper. Really does work although it never quite hangs together. deanso (10404) - Chiang Mai, THAILAND - MAR 21, 2014

330ml bottle. Pours a hazy chestnut amber, with a medium off-white head, which lasts very well and leaves good lacing. Red wine vinegar is the predominant aroma, with some plum and oak notes in there as well. Spicy hops and a slight wild yeast flavour up front lead into sweet red wine and more wild yeast in the mid-palate. A strong rye bread flavour comes through in the finish, with a lingering aftertaste of red wine vinegar. In a lot of ways this reminds me of BrewCult Acid Freaks, which is brewed with balsamic vinegar; it’s an odd beer, but on the whole it works fairly well.
