3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Tap at Fermentoren Aarhus. Pours a murky amber with a big, long lasting, soapy, off white head. Aroma is partly hoppy with some skunky, grassy notes, and partly fruity with sour, prominent sea-buckthorn. Only hints of the juniper berries though. Taste is much more radical sour, and the hoppy bitterness is very weak. The sour notes are very wooden and dry, and could easily be confused with a wild yeast sourness. Body is still pretty round though with medium carbonation.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Draught @ Fermentoren, Århus. Pours hazy redtinted light brown with a offwhite head, some lacings. Aroma is malt, light sourness, sweet caramel tart fruit, herbs. Flavor is light sourness, malty, caramel, seaburkthorn, citrusly hops. spice, juniper. Medium body, average carbonation, lasting tart finish. A strange beer, but the balance between the sweetness and the seabuckthorn works really well. 080215

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Pours opaque orange with a thin head full of yeast bits. Aroma of juniper and yeast. Seabuckthorn? I don’t know what that is. It fortunately does not smell like Sears-Roebuck. Taste is hoppy, mostly pine resin with some grapefruit bitterness.

4.5 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
Bottle from Stockmann in Tallinn (€ 3,95) in Oct 2014. Love the label. The beer pours a very (!) murky orange with a huge bubbly creamy head that laces and retains nicely. Call me a freak but I like how it looks. Nose is... oh wow... I’ve had it many times before but it always manages to hit a nerve... It’s potent with rich sea-buckthorn juice and sharp bitterness of juniper berries; it’s spicy, resinous, piney, bittersweet, biscuity... Taste is similar: beginning with succulent fruitiness, the harsh bitterness of juniper and sea-buckthorn takes over in a matter of milliseconds, bewildering the palate with the most thick and sticky hurricane of spiciness, numbing it just enough to make one reluctantly wish for another sip of this wild beast of a beer. It’s got a medium to full body, medium minus carbonation, and, as said, a sticky mouthfeel and a very long, bitingly bitter finish.
I fckn adore such freaks.
Must note that I also adore sea-buckthorn juice.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle at The Bishops Arms Gamla Stan, april 17th 2014. Cloudy orange body with floating particles and a minimal white head. Aroma of flowers, juniper, yeast. Taste is light funky, fruity, herbal, a little metallic offtaste. Nice hoppy finish. An interesting take, though I find it a bit too unbalanced, and if possible, avoid looking at the beer.
