COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The next beer in the To l hop adventure is now a reality we present to you Dangerously Close To Stupid. An Imperial IPA at 9,3 % ABV with a close to stupid amount of Citra and Centennial Hops in it. It is a bright crisp and super dry-hopped IIPA with a smooth and balanced body. To make a tight transition between the hop profile and the body we have removed all caramel malts and focused only on basis malts. This is resulting in a nice fresh Spring/Summer IIPA that has a Dangerously Close To Stupid drinkability. We have for a long time been wanting to do a pendant to the Final Frontier Double IPA, that has this rich caramel body and we think we nailed it Dangerously Close to Perfect with this one

Hazed copper color with a substantial white head. Moderately dank piney, lightly tropical hop aroma. Medium bodied with an excellent melony piney hop dominance smooth yet intense with a moderate malt backbone.

Bottle. Moderate to heavy roasted and caramel for the malt, moderate orange peel and perfume for the hops, light dough for the yeast, with over ripe prach, light dried fruits and alcohol in the background. Head is average to large, frothy, off-white, with good lacing and is mostly lasting. Color is muddy medium amber with lots of suspended little bits. Flavor starts moderately sweet and lightly acidic, then finishes moderately sweet, lightly acidic and a lengthy bitterness. Palate is medium to full, between creamy and syrupy, with a soft to lively carbonation and a moderately alcoholic finish. Damn good "Industrial" type DIPA.

Maybe its the fact that this beers name resembles another brew I like (Lagunitas Hop Stoopid) but I envisioned Dangerously Close to Stupid as being a hugely aggressive hop bomb. Really, it isnt like that at all. Theres tons of hops, sure, yet the bitterness is counterbalanced by the cracker-like malt sweetness. Fruity nose with some grass, cannabis, and eucalyptus. Lemon, tangerine, grapefruit, peach, apricot, pine, and nectar flavors. Bright palate with crisp hop resins and a vinous dry finish. This Imperial IPA is a slice of floral, tropical bliss and its a goddamn gift to us all.

Bottle @cgarvieuk. April Not So Fools Tasting 2014 [Rating Backlog April 2014] Pours golden with a white head. Nose is grapefruit, sharp lemon. Taste has both lemon and grapefruit to the fore but softened with some orange sweetness.

Ridiculously rich copper and bronze body with a thick, four centimetre tall tan head that shows some nice small bubbles, all with a great haze of orange. Aroma of bright resinous, piney and very sugary hops with a lot of toffee and earth noticeable, a good amount of malt, yeast, bread and tons of alcohol. Full-bodied; Super rich flavour of alcohol, pine, resin, grass, malt, sugars and light fruits dominate the flavour with a very sticky hop bite with a large alcohol and resinous presence near the end. Aftertaste shows the alcohol even more with a full-bodied bite of grain and toffee, coupled with some earth, fruits and more grassy flavours. Overall, a rather pungent and full-bodied Imperial IPA with a lot of grass, hay, resin, pine and especially sticky syrup notes coupled with tons of hop bitterness and even more alcohol. Good to try, and a very nice beer, but you pay for it! I sampled this 33 cL bottle purchased from New Beer Distributors in New York, New York on 02-July-2016 for US$6,25 sampled at home in Washington in minor celebration of completing training for the USMC Marathon 2016 in three days time, on 27-October-2016.

UPDATED: OCT 2, 2016 Riecht superlecker IMPERIAL IPAig. Andy sagt Dosenananas. Ich sage AMERICANO FRUCHTCOCKTAIL. FETT. Fass. Danke Malte. Honigwrze ist allgegenwrtig.
