COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The next beer in the To Øl hop adventure is now a reality – we present to you Dangerously Close To Stupid. An Imperial IPA at 9,3 % ABV with a close to stupid amount of Citra and Centennial Hops in it. It is a bright crisp and super dry-hopped IIPA with a smooth and balanced body. To make a tight transition between the hop profile and the body we have removed all caramel malts and focused only on basis malts. This is resulting in a nice fresh Spring/Summer IIPA that has a Dangerously Close To Stupid drinkability. We have for a long time been wanting to do a pendant to the Final Frontier Double IPA, that has this rich caramel body and we think we nailed it Dangerously Close to Perfect with this one

330ml bottle bought at HK Brewcraft in Central.

Looks: Cloudy hazy straw amber honey colour with a cloud of yeast particles; One and a quarter finger head with crumpety white foam which lasts for 3 minutes; Beautiful sticky lacing with slight carbonation.

Aroma: Very fragrant and sweet Ale malt, with strong pineapple, passion fruits, mango, peaches, floral nectar, sugar, alcohol, pine, strong resins, bread, strong yeast, citrus peels and grass.

Taste: Strong sweet full Ale malt, with pineapples, grapefruits, yellow fruits, floral, strong sugar, warm alcohol, pine, very strong resins, spices, strong yeast, strong lime, strong bitter hops and sharp grass.

Body: Full body. Oily and very oozy palate.

Mouth Feel: Full Ale maltyness in a viscous background. Strong hoppy taste everywhere with grapefruits, pineapples, floral, strong ooze and pine. Warm booze is hard hitting, sweetness is strong, a bit syrupy but very bearable, with very limey bitter grassiness to counter it. Very strong and tasty!

Hoppiness: Strong pineapple, passion fruits, mango, peaches, floral nectar, pine, strong resins, citrus peels and grass in nose. Pineapples, grapefruits, yellow fruits, floral, pine, very strong resins, spices, lime and sharp grass in taste; Bitterness is strong for a lasting, high astringent sweet-bitter finish.

After Taste: Fairly dry. Sweet, oozy and sharp bitter to mouth.

Comments: Intense is the best word to describe this one: great look, tropical fruity aroma, sweet and boozy fruity oozy hoppiness, yet it works out fine unlike most IIPA which usually gone off the rails at this level. If add so much for a great taste is stupid, I rather be a fool. Very nice IIPA indeed!

Cloudy golden with a big offwhite head, nice lacing. Strong aroma of tropical fruit, berries, mellon, citrus, a little spice. Taste is strong sweetness and bitterness. Full body, somewhat sticky, too much alcoholic warmth. Nice, but too sweet and alcoholic.

Aroma of citrus, tropical fruit (ananas and mango above all), resin, then caramel hints. Golden hazy color with a frothy white foam. Surely the IBUs are a lot but they’re well balanced by its body and somehow by its oily thick texture. The alcohol content is well hidden. Average carbonation, bitter finish that becomes a bit astringent after a while. It’s not an elegant beer, it’s not the beer I’d suggest for a fancy dinner but it’s a kind of badass nordic muscular tastebuds-eraser.

Cloudy straw with creamy off white head. Dank sour citrus lime yeast aroma. Very dank grassy orange peak hop, plenty of ABV and a nice neutral muesli malt character. Grassy bitter linger. Very nice. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle from Tanakaya. Pours a hazy gold with two fingers of head. Tropical fruit forward nose with lots of peach, pineapple, biscuits and honey. Sweet on the palate with lots of honey, but feels lighter than most double IPAs. Lots of muscat on the palate and through the finish with some bitterness as well some booziness. Nice double IPA which drinks lighter than most.
