Väldigt kraftig . Mycket sötma och kola, alkoholen skiner igenom. Mårten gillade inte den, men tAck ändå.

Bottle from Archive Beer Boutique August 2013. One of the most flavour packed bees I have ever had. There is so much going on in this beer it is hard to keep track. Lots of spiced fruit and alcohol.

4/X/14 - 33cl bottle from De Hopduvel (Gent) @ home - BB: 17/IV/18 (2014-1175)

Little cloudy deep red to red brown beer, big creamy light beige head, pretty stable, adhesive. Aroma: sweet, sugary malts, caramel, dried fruits, other fruits, some strawberry jam. MF: soft carbon, full body. Taste: sweet malts, alcohol, very sugary, syrupy, jam, more alcohol, bit sourish, bit of green banana. Aftertaste: pretty bitter, very hoppy, floral touch, sweet and sugary, strawberry jam, caramel, alcohol, grassy, bit medicinal. Would call this a barley wine, rather than a quad, is that ok?

Vestergaard (1861) - Aarhus C, DENMARK - SEP 6, 2014
Tap at Fermentoren Aarhus. Pours Dark, unclear Brown with a small, dense, White head. Aroma has honestly lots of bourbon and caramel. Dunno if this is barrel aged or not, but it sure has those flavors. Dried plums and figs, Belgian yeast and stuff. Taste has chocolate, licorice, bourbon, slight hops, dried fruits. Ends of with lots of caramel. Full Body and and semi-High carb. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

28-JUN-2014, draft @Mikkeller & Friends. Hazy dark Brown with low tan head. Sweet with Brown sugar, hops, spice, licorice, and a brett’y smokey thing. Sweet, full body, alcoholic. Fine.

stravale (2878) - Near Carrick-on-Shannon, IRELAND - JUN 8, 2014
Bottle from Old Stand, Mullingar [090614]
Dark ruby, clear, big frothy beige bit orangey head, some lacing
Aroma of sweet dense caramel malts, touch of toffee, soft alcohol, bit spicy, soft alcohol soaked fruits
Taste of sweet caramel, slight liquorice, some sweet toffee, burnt sugars, slight orange, resin, bit of varnish, alcohol soaked bit spicy fruits, quite boozy, some very bitter dry zest that’s more prominent in the finish. Not all that keen on the flavour.
Palate - soft carb, full body, oily, sweet sticky palate. Finish as main flavour, lots of warming booze, drying bitter alcohol and some sweet caramel sugars in the long tail
Overall - Alcohol not hidden in this one, maybe the taste lacks some complexity...tastes like a barley wine to me
